Re: Question on NY pistol laws from a Canadian

Hmmm. My GSP tricked out for NRA sounds like a no-no. My MG-2 for ISSF is probably a no-no, but too weird for any law enforcement officer to readily identify as Assault-like. And my SSP? Probably also too unconventional? The magazine doesn't go ahead of the trigger... Maybe I'll only shoot Free Pis...

Re: Which scope/reticle for 50 meters and 50 ft?

Thanks everybody, (Yes, I know this is not for the ISSF rules events, but we have indor competition with "any" sights, and also to have a decent scope for my "recreational" .22 rifle), so the "best overall and most versatile" scope would be this VX-3 6.5-20x40mm EFR Ta...

The top two both seem reasonable, depending on your preference for having the bubble inside or outside the tunnel (I prefer outside, but everyone is different). The Gehmann slip on works fine if you never want to adjust it but if you need to tweak it a little, or a lot when changing positions, it is...

Re: Still open

I called Sightron and was told that target focus and parallax are not necessarily the same, but that the difference is insignificant. You seem to be telling us that reticle focus affects parallax. I never heard that before, but we'll see next spring. Right now it is about 10 deg and snowing. I'm a ...

You might try playing with this: http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94809&highlight=parallax+adjustment That's very helpful for those who own a "non-parallax adjustable" scope. I am buying a new scope and want to use it at different ranges and on different rifles. I...

I use Conus, the more you can magnify the better. Reason is simple, you can always reduce magnification, but you can never increase it after it tops out when you really need it. The main reason for having the super magnification lens is because I want to see if I double tap. That require maximum ma...

For 50/100 yard my preference is for a 25X with a big dot (Leupold Silhouette). I have tried higher and lower powers with a smaller dot but the big 3/8 MOA dot has been my favorite. I thought it would be too big when I switched to it but after one card I never wanted to go back. So much easier to se...

I used to use an EFR with that tiny dot and then changed scopes to a 25x Competition Series with the 3/8 dot. I was concerend at first that the dot would be too big but after one card I was in love and never looked back! On the few occasions where I have put the EFR back on it takes some getting use...

The bill specifically says ONE feature for handguns, so the mentioned pistols would be included. The text is on page 19 of your link. Your text of "two" may come from an older version of the penal code. When they do these bills to ammend current code they also put in code that will be dele...

That link was just announced Monday, after I made the initial post. Yhe bottom line in the link says it is information only, not legal advice. During the televised voting of the bill, they said "one illegal feature, Period." The law is a very restrictive one; perhaps not quite as bad as i...
