My belief is that the trigger stop should be engaged so that trigger "stops" after the shot has fired. If the trigger travels any distance past the shot release point it "may" interupt follow through and smooth trigger press. The trigger stop is there to stop the trigger "co...

Probably taking the "2mm" first stage travel and the weights of each stage too literal. You don't need to have a 2 stage trigger. If you do have a 2 stage trigger then those are only approximate measures and weights. If you only have one stage, that's ok as long as you have no creep in the...

When you say pulling trigger hard, do you mean you are dry firing and just pressing into overload? For example, the trigger breaks at say 550g and you continue pressing through to say 750g then release. This is Ok and won't damage anything as the trigger should be set so that after the shot break or...

Trigger stages/pressure

Pistols from the factory seemed to be set up to function and that's about it. Whilst agreeing with some points in leaving things alone until you gain experience, I have found the new shooter buys a pistol and shoots with it for many months and then decides to get some coaching and if the coach is ex...

Grip Properly

Yes, the front fingers apply rearward pressure into the 'V'. The darker shades indicate more pressure, or even pressure. Lighter shades just "hold" grip.

The main trick is to have consistent grip pressure and position for each shot or series of shots.

Match Plan

Here is a basic Match Plan taken from my book. I also layout a shot plan for any shooters I coach. The shot plan is more beneficial as it keeps the shooters doing the simple things correctly. About 6 steps to fire ONE GOOD SHOT. i.e. Raise Pistol & feel trigger, Lower through centre of Target, S...

Book - Shooters Guide........

I simply wrote this book because there wasn't much around which just gave simple explanations of what is required to shoot a pistol. It was first written in 1992 and has since been updated about 6 times over the years. I was an experienced shooter but cannot shoot anymore but do a lot of high level ...
