Very good advice - inhaling the fumes is very dangerous - also do far away from where children play or are around.Richard H wrote:If you do melt it down do it outdoors and wear an N95 respirator at a minimum.

Not an answer to OPs question but this may be of interest to UK folks importing from USA to UK - I had a Crossman air pistol sent over to UK and it was held at UK Customs for 6 weeks for no apparent reason, then released with total charges of around 20%. Carriers were USPS and Royal Mail ParcelForce.

Re: Modern Times
Modern times need modern and new ways of being in contact with customers. No, no company "needs" to publish in a forum. But some companies are interested in what their customers think of their products and therefore go and have a look. And sometimes even post some news and/or information....

Re: a plot
Good question! I dunno why it happened; all of the electronic trigger failure stories have an "unusual" air of mystery regarding the failure. . . . . . . . . I have a simple mind that likes to keep things as simple as possible. Or it's sour grapes because I didn't want to pay for an LP10e...

It is also a matter of shooting style. My coach still shoots his LP1 and has no intention of changing it, he says he prefers the feel to the LP10. For me, the LP10 feels alot easier to shoot well than the LP1. Could it be that the LP1 (and LP2) without recoil absorber makes one a more proficient ma...

The amount of lead detritus is an important point to consider. Whilst it is easy to wash hands, a lot of the muck can be carried into the gun when loading and gets blown down range where it contaminates the floor over a long period and is difficult to eliminate. It gets walked onto footwear and dist...

I would advise against reducing the muzzle velocity of your LP10 beneath the normal 520 fps. Use foam ear plugs AND ear muffs to protect your hearing. Steyr have optimised the gun design at this velocity with respect to the performance of the pressure regulator, number of shots per fill and target '...

Apology
I engaged in a thread , now removed, in which my upset overflowed into some personal remarks which I wish to apologise for. Especially to TomAmlie who bore the brunt of this. What they don't explain correctly in the owners manual is that the yellow section is included in the cylinder capacity. Its simply coloured yellow as an indicator, similar to traffic lights. I filled a cylinder, and started firing until I had reached the lower limits of the yellow. Sure enough, aro...

Watch repairing once was a hobby with me, so I have no problem disregarding my left eye image. I have noticed a str...

From a purely mechanical perspective, silicone oil should never be used to lubricate metal to metal surfaces. It causes galling which is the transfer of the softer metal to the harder of the surfaces - it is very destructive. More damage is done by silicone lubrication than by no lubrication. Crossm...
