Honestly I feel that this rifle shooter vs pistol argument is beginning to get out of hand. While I can understand pistol shooters poking fun out our outfits and gear (some posts seem to have gone beyond this, this goes for both parties), I feel that there are more constructive comments towards this...

I just recently switched my position from the palm to the fist as well (one month ago). I knew I would struggle with low npa as well, so I made the following changes: Rifle: (Anschutz 2002 Alu) 1. Moved my buttplate up to about the middle, shortened it all the way (took out the two adjustable washer...

Smallbore recommendation

I would recommend the 1907 in the precise stock, as recommended in the above post. I currently shoot one, and have had it for a year now. The rifle can adjust every way you can imagine, however the grip does not slide back and forth, just left and right and rotates, which is the only thing I did not...

There may be another possibility as to the reason of the rifle moving away from you. Your elbow may be to far to the left. When you get down in position, stretch out your left arm all the way (within reason, not with a painful stretch). After you have hooked into your sling, take your right hand awa...

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you may be stuck. My brother had the same problem with his Hammerli, sent it off to Larry's guns twice, first to rebuilt the regulator. Worked for a little bit. The second time around we found that the action was not popping back all the way, so my brother woul...

Most people in my Club shoot with a solid, half finger Kurt Thune glove. If you are looking for the most support on your knuckles, that is definitely the way to go. Personally, I use the combination half finger glove from Kurt Thune (the white solid material on the wrists, top grip on the palm and k...

Just out of curiosity about what score range does your daughter shoot in? This would be helpful, as you want to avoid buying her a stock that is overcomplicated for her level. And what is the model of the barreled action your were given? Although all 54's will fit in any of the current Anschutz 19 s...

Correction to my own post: have seen my hold increase with a stronger grip, not decrease. Anyway, pull up some photos of shooters at world cups at issf.org. You can observe that most have their grip high (flush with top of pistol grip) and the fact that their fingers are wrapped around do not indica...

Cheek Pressure: Relaxed head position (really key to set up your cheekpiece) Grip Strength: A subject hard to describe. A light grip is not ideal. I know that when I had a lighter grip and my hand was lower on my grip, I would tend to get a lot of flyers straight up in offhand. Fixing my grip almost...

Make sure that you set up the weight so it reverse cants, that is when you cant the rifle in standing and kneeling, the weight should line up center under the barrel. You will not have fun in kneeling with recoil if you do not set up the weight right.

Price Range: 185 for Knoblochs, 285 for Champion frames. Personally, I use knoblochs, as I did not want to spend 285 on the Champions. If you have the money, I would recommend the Champion Frames, as it is sometimes difficult to get the Knobloch lens far enough to the left for Offhand, and sometimes...

If I understand your explanation right, you are missing on of the screws that adjusts the cant of your front sight. Provided you have one of them, you should be able to take it in to a shop and ask for a 2.5mm head screw with that length. Often times you might not be able to find the right length, b...

Couple things you could do. 1. Shoot with your hand in a fist position. This of course is me assuming you are using the palm of your hand. Set yourself in an upright position such that you do not have to lean far back to set the rifle up. This will help alleviate the weight of the rifle. 2. Narrow y...

If you have the 690 barrel, that would make your rifle the 2013. I am your height and 5 pounds heavier, and I do not shoot a super match action (term for any heavier barrels, i.e 1907 v. 1913 super match). I have shot an older Anschutz that weighed at least 14.5 to 15 pounds, and it was too heavy. I...

Most shooter wear a long sleeve spandex top followed by a sweatshirt (personal opinion, it is a lot easier to use a sweatshirt without a hood). If you really want to spend the money, you can buy an official shooting sweater from sauer of Anschutz, but there over 100 dollars. As far as I am concerned...

I personally have a gehmann front glass iris, with a range of 2.9 to 4.9. I got that size range because it seemed the most logical, no one uses a 2.4 (which goes up to 4.4) but having a 4.9 allows a lengthy extension tube ( although i do not use a bloop tube). My brother has an anschutz adjustable c...

There is one more hand variation that will offer you more height. You can turn your fist 90 degrees, such that the outside of your hand faces the left side of the rifle. This position also serves as a natural cant. While I personally use the standard fist position, I can assure you that turning your...

I have had similar problems in prone matches, esp. on a 50m conventional target with the one center top sighter bull. Pistol Grip adjustment on Anschutz precise stock

Just got a 1907 in a Anschutz aluminum precise stock. Haven't even shot it yet. Love the cheekpiece, the buttplate, ect. And yet, why does the pistol grip not adjust back and forth, and yet it rotates and moves left to right? Seems to be a serious design flaw to me, as I have the trigger all the way ...
