All the actions from Anschutz (except Biathalon and the 1903 Rifle) are 54 actions. The 1903 is a Junior gun, and is the 4 action. Is great for a beginner or intermediate shooter, but I believe it is not as accurate as the 54 series. The 14 series dates to I believe the 70's, and is identified by th...

reply to ammo
I agree with the person above. Would definitively recommend SK standard plus. I shoot it for practice and often for matches, and in my opinion it is the best ammo for the price, and very accurate. While certainly not eley tenex or R-50, I have shot plenty of groups that hold the ten ring. However, i...

Fiocchi Supermatch
Does anyone know a good place to get Fiocchi Supermatch? So far, I have found that Midway USA, Sportsman's guide, and maybe one or two other places carries it. Also, since I live near a Cabelas in Washington, would it be better to ask them to order me some? My coach had a few bricks of some older Fi...

Torque setting
I would agree with the above post unless your stock has been glass bedded. If it has, I would recommend 5 and a half newtons. I have a 1907 an a 1813 wood stock, and it seems to work with this setting.

Suspenders for shooting best vs belt
I have been using suspenders for years. However, I am considering switiching to a belt to see if it will be more comfortable on my shoulders and trapezees muscles. I am also tired of them not staying on my shooting pants. However, before I do so, does anyone have any experience using a special shoot...

The 1913 is a round action, and the 2013 is a square action. Both have the same 54 action and the same trigger. However, the 2013's barrel is screwed into the square housing, allowing the removal and changing of a barrel (someone can probably offer a better explanation). The 1913's barrel is attache...

Dirty Rifle
The picture shown of the Eley Green box labeled "Sport" is the same thing as Eley target to my knowledge. However, this is not the case for the U.S, as the Eley sport we can get is the mexican stuff, and the eley stuff equivalent of the greenbox is Eley target, a yellow box for us.

Cleaning an air gun
I have a much different method of cleaning my airgun. A coach told me that those felt pellets were worthless, and I tend to agree. I believe that putting a little felt pellet the same diameter as an actual pellet does not pick up very much lead. I was recommended to take a thick piece of fishing wir...

Cut of Tennessee Rifle Team
This cut seems to me purely political. I had issues with this for my High School Team in Washington state, and we and another school were being cut to make it appear that the district was cutting their budget. Reality wise, we were a nominal cost to the district, and we were not receiving student bo...

Air Rifle ammo
I would agree with the above post. I would try shooting a higher end ammo. The fact that I have never heard of meisterklugen pellets is probably an indicator of a low grade pellet. Go with Finale match or R-10. Also, I guess Vogel pellets now shoot well. I own a 2002, and I have benched it and put 5...

Heat on ammo
Heat will absolutely affect ammo. Hot enough heat will start to melt the wax on the outside of the bullet. I had teammates who went down to Ft. Benning, Georgia, and let their tenex get hot enough to melt the wax. The results were awful. I would recommend storing ammo in a cooler. I have a small one...

Reply to shooting glasses
I use a pair of Knobloch shooting glasses. I can definately tell you to not get the Jagi shooting glasses. My coach warned me not to get those, as they are a pain. The knoblochs offer me a decent pair of shooting frames for 185 dollars. However, they are a pain to tighten done if you slide them over...

Rust problems
I did contact champions choice. A guy by the name of Jim said that according to the gunsmith there, it was probably blueing salts leftover. He said to take a brush and hoppies. If I continue to have problems, I am supposed to contact them again. Much more productive than if I had contacted Anschutz.

Rust problems
To reply to Kevin, I have contacted Anschutz previously on firing pin problems I had with a no longer working rifle. They refered me to one of their "certified dealers;" Champions Choice or Champion shooters. They would not help at all. Logically, I would contact Champions Choice since I p...

Strange rust problems on barreled action
I got a new 1907 anschutz barreled action a little over two months ago. Ever since than, every time I wipe down the barrel or inside the action, I get an orange residue. Obviously, it is rust. However, the strange thing is that it is not visable even with a flashlight; both a yellow light and a whit...

Thanks to all who gave me advice. I did check my glasses, cheek pressure, breathing ect. Seems as if a 3-7 apperature size and a yellow filter did the trick. Oh, and I probably should have specified that I am 17 years old. I apologize to the established gentlemen who may have posted advice under the...

Suppose the ISSF will now look for ways to reduce the ten ring or create some other disadvantage to lower scores. Such a move would be disaterous, since a smaller ten ring may not be possible to hit everytime between the barrel and ammunition. Seems to me that if you're good enough and can hit the t...

Grip
I would recommend making absolutely sure you ride your grip up all the way on your stock. For at least a year and half, I suffered from high shots, shots that I would call tens but would shoot up into the 7 to 6 ring (or worse). Riding my hand up the grip as much as possible took care of the problem...

Finger Touching trigger guard
Yes, your finger touching the trigger guard will absolutely hinder your performance. When I was at a shooting camp in Salem, OR, this was a problem highlighted by 2 of the national USA coaches.

Ammo
I would agree that Eley is fairly dirty ammunition. For your bolt, I would try to put some grease in it. As for the ammo, I can tell you that Sk and wolf (the same ammo) are both very clean shooting. My brother has a short barrel on his Anschutz 1407 with a bloop tube, and the front of the barrel ha...
