Alas! Relocation to California
After years of enjoying shooting sports in Washington (state) I find myself relocating to California, not by choice but by necessity. I will be in NorCal, specifically near Tracy, CA. Can someone steer me towards indoor or outdoor 4-Position smallbore (or 3P), 3P air rifle, smallbore bullseye, and a...

I prefer to shoot iron sights, but with old eyes found the only way I could shoot 4P indoors was with a scope. Until I was loaned an adjustable iris and front aperture. I'm back to shooting with iron sights and much happier. My scores dropped a few points, but not enough to make we want to give up i...

Postal League
On behalf of those of us who shot at the Capitol City Rifle & Pistol Club (Olympia, WA), thank you for your hard work in organizing the League and keeping it all flowing smoothly (at least from all outward appearances...). Running a League is not easy, especially one with almost 70 shooters spre...

look at the Sightron Big Sky II line or Leupold. I have mounted each on precision air rifles and have been happy with both. The Sightron will save you a few bucks vs. Leupold.

this post has been very informative! I especially appreciate the thoughtful and concise answers/suggestions/tips provided. While not having the same questions as the original poster, the thread has opened my eyes to trying a few different things to improve my kneeling position and scores. As someone...

Mailing money orders
just came across this post. I send Money Orders (and/or cashiers checks) USPS Priority mail i order to get a delivery confirmation number. while this doesn't provide real time "tracking" like Fedex or UPS, it does provide a number that can be researched if necessary. I have never had any p...

grips
Dick made me a set of LH grips for a High Standard earlier this year -- for lefties, he is about the only option and a good one at that! And as other posters have noted, his products are custom fit to the shooter, well made, delivered quickly, and price competitive.

red dot mount
I only use one ring to mount a red dot (Millet, so it is small) on a Hammerli 208. I've had it mounted that way and shot it for almost 5 years now with no problems.

it is looking like I might find myself in Lodi, CA this summer. Where does one go to shoot Bullseye (SB) within an hour or so of Lodi?

the difference is lead bullets fragment in the sand and become part of the medium, making separation a recovery process. The sand with lead in it as a by-product of shooting is not a hazardous waste, but once removal efforts begin, it is, meaning a whole set of costly procedures need to be followed....

Fellow shooters: My Club is considering replacing sand filled bullet traps with Bullet Bunkers, filled with a rubber material, in our indoor range. The range is currently used for smallbore bullseye, 4P, and silhouette Leagues, as well as air rifle bench rest and field target. I am interested in rea...

i use a white occluder in front of (mounted on my hat) non-shooting eye for the sam reason as suggested in an earlier post --let as much light in as possible to help me focus and reduce eye strain. I do this indoors and out.

indoor range rules and regs
Our indoor range is for smallbore and air gun use only, and only for organized competitive events -- no open use by members. All events have at least one RSO in attendance or as a participant. It keeps errant shots to only a few rounds into the eyebrow above the targets.
