Re: nose-heavy

You want the grip adjusted so that you are feeling most of that out-front weight at the rear-most part of your hand, rather than at your fingers. In other words, the fingers act as the pivot point of a lever system balancing two weights. HTH FredB Fred, that's what I discovered by accident. The way...

My coach is really strict about my pointing my IZH 46M downrange when I cock it. I'm still trying to figure out how to do it without breaking stance.

Re: Replacement grip for IZH-46M

I just purchased a new IZH-46M & the grips are not as anatomical as i want them..Which company/ies has the best bang for the back on grips?(match level if possible).Thank you:) Spiros, You would probably get more responses if you had posted your question as a new topic, rather than as a reply. ...

The way I see it, there are at least three approaches to the "Russ and Steve show" and other situations like it. First, which is the most labor intensive, is to turn the forum into a formally moderated one. And yes, I'll volunteer to be one of the moderators. Second, no one is forcing us t...

This is going to sound somewhat odd, but what works for me is HEAT. I've been out to the Prado range a couple times this last summer when the outside temperature was in the 90's and the inside in the 100's. All upper body tension and random thoughts just melted away. Just before shooting, try: Georg...

To steer this back to the original question, it depends on lotsa things. 1. Does he want a legal answer or a practical answer? 2. Does his state define firearms, handguns, airguns? 3. Exactly what are the terms of his probation? 4. How does the probation office interpret the terms of his probation? ...

I can see a similarity in the U.S. between air pistol/rifle and ham radio, my other hobby. Both require an investment of time (and lesser so, money). Neither has instant gratification. Neither one can compete with extreme sports and computer games for instant gratification. It seems as though the yo...

Re: sub six hold

Considering how our eyes/minds percieve geometric patterns, wouldn't a sub six hold with the amount of light betwen the top of the front sight and the bottom of the bull being equal to the white on either side of the front sight (between the rear sight ) be most efficient? That's exactly what my co...

. . . Amazing that people think I am quite rude when I generally point out that the counterargument, however true it might be, is also completely irrelevant. A might be better than B, while B might still be preferred by any number of top-level shooters. Steve Swartz Reminds me of the quote from &qu...

No, I'd call it an advertisement. Per the TargetTalk Rules and Regs, For Sale Items: Please feel free to post these as well, as long as they are directly related to International type shooting.

My opinion is the ads are on-topic, but a bit excessive in number.

Bill177 has done an excellent job of summarizing the differences between the two pistols (and the plug-n-play advantage of the 46M). You're coach is right about your overcoming the weight of the 46M. If you want to speed things up, use your 46M as a dumbbell. Start with it at your side, raise it slo...

James, Since I've only been shooting for a year and my daughter for a month, I can't give you an authoritative answer, but I can share our experiences. I bought the 46M because it was cheap and I didn't want to invest a lot of money unless I ended up sticking with the sport. IT IS THE HEAVIEST AIR P...

Another thing to check for is where your middle and ring fingers are on the grip. The middle bones of the two fingers should be on the leading face of the grip and perpendicular to the barrel. Given your description of where your index finger is, I'll bet your middle and ring fingers are really wrap...
