I'm in the same basket as Ben and Lior. Surgery went wrong; two years and still back pain. Lots of lifting exercises, but it doesn't help much. Lighten up your pistol as much as you physically can. Take ibuprofen 2 hours before shooting. I don't know that balancing the load matters much. Reduce the ...

When I was ready to buy the short version of the LP-10 wasn't readily available (there was a time constraint), so I opted for a long barrel gun with the short cylinder, then I shortened up the distance between the sights. It gives me most of the feel of he shorter pistol -- but I understand that thi...

I gather that in Germany when you do get a firearms permit they ask you if you would use the gun in self-defense to save your life. The correct and only acceptable answer is "no." Because if you stored the gun properly it would take you so long to get to it and get it loaded that you had t...

law enforcement AS A GROUP is not a friend of the civilian gun community. I suspect that this statement would be equally true if you dropped the word "gun" from it. I don't know how things changed from when I was a kid in the 40s and the beat cop really was your friend and protector, but ...

If you were speeding, and 27 miles an hour over the limit is speeding to me, then I don't see why your being a competitive shooter should have made much difference to the officer. Maybe he had his monthly quota already. On the other hand, he really did as much good for his mission -- keeping speeds ...

I spent much too much time reading this site and watching the video clip. It is really quite frightening. The way the cop jumped into the car and began an illegal search without a warrant and w/o even asking if the victims consented to a search could have gotten him in a lot more hot water than just...

The USA will have multiple channels including some pay per view. We may be able to negotiate some coverage for a bit of pinkapinka.

But remember the shooting events are at the beginning, so NOW is the time for all good whiners to come to the aid of their sport.

Yup. The value of a scalper's unsold ticket to the hottest show in town peaks a few hours before show time and drops to approximately zero at curtain time. There will surely be a lot of similar Olympic bargains in London in 2012, if you have tickets to the Games. However, those rooms will still go f...

What happens to access to the Royal Greenwich Observatory during the games (and test events) and between the events? Will it even be possible to get to the facility on foot? What about handicapped access in a taxi? It's true that there's no longer any timekeeping or astronomy at the RGO, and it's pa...

Ask Steyr. If they haven't closed for Christmas yet, they'll surely tell you the specs. I could measure mine, but I really don't have the facilities to do better than a millimeter or two. Maybe not that well.

Another possibility is that the pellet was defective. A slightly too-small pellet will sound different and hit lower. It's louder because so much air escapes around it.

I am not buying, but sometimes I quickly click through all new posts in a forum in order to clear it out so I can easily see when the next post is made. I'm sure that click and 1 second dwell time of the spam on my computer count as a page "view."
