Matt,
You wouldn't happen to know how he keeps that weight in place when he stuffs the rifle in its case for travel?
But yes pristine rifles are good to look at but great score cards are prettier!

1903
Texdance Sorry but I can’t help you with your question. I will offer you some unsolicited advice in hope that it doesn’t offend you. IMO, the 1903 is one of the best intermediate target rifles on the planet especially here in the US where parts are readily available. They are tough, reliable, accura...

starter rig
I bought a TAU 200 from Pilkguns (used) with a synthetic stock a few years ago for my then 9 year old daughter. It is light (7 lbs) with a short, 12” LOP that can be lengthened with spacers as well as an adjustable cheek rest. It will hold the ten ring and with the right pellets group 10.5s. The tri...

how, wait, what
Rmarsh, Take a look at this http://www.odcmp.com/3P/PostalChampionships.htm , it’s the first thing I’ve seen for next year 2014. It appears that you’ll have two chances to qualify for the CMP regional 1) by the postal or 2) a CMP sanctioned state championship match. I’ve not seen anything from the N...

rbodono2,
Thanks for letting us know, I thought that this year went great and was concerned that the concept was going to get scraped. I hope the NRA will play nice with the rest too.

My opinion
conradin, “So in your opinion low cost match rifle does not hold up value? If I paid $900 I would be lucky to get $450 back in half a year?” No! IMO you could reasonably expect to recover $675 for your rifle, I probably wouldn’t pay more than $450 for it. Add that Haemmerli has a reputation for weak...

value?
Conradin,
I’m not sure what your question is but I think you want to know what the resale value of a Haemmerli AR20 is?
Well I would be surprised if anyone would pay more than 75 % of what a new one would cost. I would not pay more than 50% of new unless I know something special about the rifle.

The 2nd round invitations didn’t come out until the 2nd week of June and with only 4 week to make arrangements not to many team were able to make it there. Perhaps they could consider “over booking” the 2nd round on a first come first serve basis.

3P air Champs
Jhmartin, Do you remember what the automatic qualifying score was in the past? The minimum invite score for precision individuals this year was 586 for JOs (Elizabeth), 584 for NRA sectionals, and 570.5 (1141 two day total) for CMP nationals. There was 47 unused firing point (still allowing 5 hospit...

What do you think?
OK, now that it’s over and the dust has settled what are your thoughts on how it went? Do you have any ideas on how to improve this match or selection process for next year? I thought it was very well run and an excellent experience for those that attended. There were 34 teams and a total of 178 ind...

conradin With results like that I would be very concerned of damage to the bore from improper cleaning or some other abuse. Your rig with cheap daisy pellets should yield better results if you were crazy enough to run those nasty things though your gun. Also rather than test with a questionable vise...

Thank you Mr. Clays for starting this thread and the rest of you folks for all the great replies. I’m sorry that I don’t have any other suggestion as to a cure for your issue I just thought I would add my experience with the 1903 model. We have a half dozen 1903s that are “club guns” that have shot ...

I never gave this much thought because I work with a junior program more or less to “give back to the community” and of course this is out of pocket. For the kids that get more serious there are many occasions when more qualified and experienced shooters that will take some time out and help them bu...

To my knowledge Williams makes two dovetail attaching bases (for front globe). A low (.220) which is what is on the 5 mark IIs that I have and a high (.465) base that may be what you are looking for. The rifles I have at 50 meters zero very close to the bottom of the rear sight adjustment (6 to 10 c...

You may want to check for a backlash issue with your 7020 sight. To get 1/16 MOA per click with a 7020 sight your sight radius would have to be roughly 42 inches.

CanadianAce I bought a 1813 with almost the same accessories last year. I was willing to pay up to $5,000 (new) but got lucky and found one for $2,600 and have $3,100 in it by the time I had it set up very close to what you have (minus ammo) so, I would say $4,000 would be the low side and $5,500 th...

I feel your pain brother! The first year is the hardest so take a deep breath and hang in there. From your post the thing that sticks out the most to me is that you are working alone. At the very least you need to have a two trained people on the range if you have more than one shooter on the line. ...

COBelties ... your observations are correct. Some have noted to me that this may be because of limited number of dorm rooms... but if that is so, there is still no reason to limit the number of shooters in the event. If they really want to come & shoot there are plenty of hotel rooms in Colo Sp...
