Out of Bounds
I was surprised that that thread got the ax; I was under the impression that the “Shooters Lounge” was a open forum and that post would have been OK. But the title does say... ” A place to discuss non-discipline specific items, such as mental training, ammo needs, and issues regarding ISSF, USAS, an...

sights
Zoomies,
He had some trouble with the front sight working loose and the rear not being as crisp and repeatable as some of the other sights he has used in the past. Nothing major and could just be part of working the bugs out of a new rig.

One of the junior shooter at our club got one a few months ago and is happy with the rifle performance but chose the Air Force sights and isn't very pleased with the sight set.

skylark I can undersand your concern with back problems. My daughter is 14 as well and is just under 100 lbs. She is using a full size rig but I think she is athletic enough to handle it. She runs cross country, plays softball (pitching, shortstop, 2nd base) vollyball, basketball, and is in the marc...

Pat Looks like this is going to get complicated but I may have got a stroke of luck. I was telling my instuctor/partner about this and it turns out that the insurance provider for the sportsman club was the mayor when my buddy was on city council and is his friend and personal insurance agent. Somet...

GOVTMODEL I see you are from Rhode Island, there was some clubs at the Canp Pery Open in January from your neck of the woods but I can't remember the names, were you out there with any of then? I will check with the NRA hopefully I willn't have to buy the standard package they offer on line. Thanks ...

Thank You for responding! As far as 4-H I have bin working with a local club but many of the kids are in boy/girl scouts and don't want to commit to another organazational obligation. The 4-H club is also so full that we don't get enough range time as it is. What is happening is the new kid get all ...

I am starting a youth air 3 position (NRA/CMP rules) program at a local club. The club asked that I get an additional insurance policy for this program. The “test program” will consist of 10 Thursday evening meeting of two to three hours that will be indoors with air rifles only. We hope to have ave...

Scott, Great question to ponder, I would like to think the answer is NO! All, I agree Pat McCoy, We may not have to wait for the mid-term elections after what happened in Mass. Yesterday (Do you think that is a preview?) However, when it comes to politicians I’m going to steal Ruttys’ quote “Blessed...

I’m a 4-H shooting sports leader and my wife has always said “that your thing, I don’t want to get involved with that.” Well yesterday she had the day off work and didn’t have anything planed. So I gave her a quick lesson on safety and how to operate a daisy 747 (with our daughters’ help). I left th...

GaryN, You know that I can’t get into her head so what is going on in there may be the reason her scores improving. The idea that her coach moved her “up” could have just given her the confidence she needed. I work with other kids on the line (we think that it’s a mistake for a parent to coach their...

Archerdan I have read some of your posts and haven't seen any information on the age or size of your kids. We have a XVS40 in our 4-H club and fine it most useful for our smaller/younger shooter for the following reasons. 1) The gun is shorter than most other options so the ballance point is within ...
