Yes, I realize that every gun is indeed a world of it's own. I was just wondering if the FWB 603's generally show a preference for a particular brand of pellet. Somewhat like most S&W Model 41 pistols are known to run quite well on CCI SV ammo. At up to $14 (or more) a tin for quality pellets it...

10 Meter Pellet Choice?

Just bought a FWB 603 that I plan on using at 10 meters for both bullseye and paper silhouette. Wondering what would be a good pellet choice. I've plenty of H&N Finale Pistol Match wadcutter pellets on hand

Bought an IZH 46-M. Not much chance of going wrong with that one for what I want to do.

Looking for suggestions for an air pistol

Neither the neighbors nor local law enforcement would take too kindly to live fire practice in my back yard. Dry fire practice inside my home is certainly an option but that only goes so far. Keith has mentioned several times getting in quality practice with an air pistol... would be legal in my bac...

I still have my Model 41 but only shoot it occasionally now. Have gone to a Sig 1911 with a Marvel Conversion unit. If you already have a 1911 with a decent trigger you might consider putting a Marvel unit on it.

If you would like I will send you some of the 069 Saeco bullets to try because I know they are accurate and if it doesn't work for you there is another problem because I'm not the only one who has excellent results. One of my friends shot a slow fire of 99 with his personally accurized gun at a mat...

Maybe I've just been lucky, but the standard old "Colt" marked blue 7rd magazine has worked just fine for me. Feeds SWC rounds with no problem in my Colt Gov't Model, Colt Gold Cup, Sig 1911 and Les Baer custom.

45ACP bullets

Just wondering what your preference is in 45ACP bullets for serious paper punching. I've been using cast 200gr SWC's (Lyman 452630 and 452460). Just got in some cast 185gr similar to the Lyman 452630 design. Tried them with +/- 3.8gr Bullseye but wasn't all that thrilled. Will try them maybe tomorro...

Drop by your local hardware store and get some #4 drywall anchors... those plastic things you put in drywall to secure a screw. They work wonderfully as 22LR snap caps and even cycle through the magazine if you want to throw a couple in with the live rounds for "dummy and ball" practice.

The only real advantage that I can think of would be the longer sight radius for using iron sights. Had I to do it over again I would probably look real closely at the long slide version.

The paper box CCI was quite a bit hotter, from what I understand it is made in the Federal factory, not CCI. Yes, some of the paper box CCI SV was indeed assembled by Federal. There is a real easy to tell the difference though. If the plastic piece that the cartridges are in is clear plastic and do...

On a 50 yard slow fire target the 10 ring is aprox 2 3/8" diameter and the X ring is right at 1 5/8" diameter.... take your pick as to what is acceptable for you.

Used a borrowed Pardini SP at the weekly 50' Indoor League tonight. Not sure what vintage it was but probably 10 or more years old. Was marked Nygord Precision Products on the frame. CCI SV ran just fine in it. Hopefully my 2009 model will do the same.

Living on a "grilled cheese for dinner" budget would be one reason. Just can't afford the over 10 bucks a box ammo with any regularity.

Pardini SP & CCI SV?

Within the next couple of weeks I'll be turning in my S&W Model 41 membership card and switching to a Pardini SP. I've a couple cases of CCI SV on hand and just wondering if the two might go together well. Of course the real answer will be when I actually have the pistol and can try it to see.

Bullet Lube

Those of you that cast your own bullets for bullseye use... just wondering what you use for lube and how well satisfied you are with it. I've been using "BAC" from White Label Lube on 148gr wadcutters that I cast from scrap wheelweight. I will usually add a pound or two of linotype to each...
