Rover... well that complicates things a little!!! :) 1) interesting that the miragre (temperature plane or humidity differential?) would be able to be "tilted" by a horizontal force... I might have thougt ripples or "waves" in the unconformity would have been the expected result ...

Mirage - why is it important?

Hi - I was searching on some of the historic posts on mirage and I was hoping to gain a better undertanding of "why" it's important and "what" it does. This summer will be my first shooting outdoors 50/100m and I although I'm familiar with heat mirage while driving (above a roadw...

Great article - as a new shooter... I was wrong... trying to come down from the top... logic works and I'll adjust (not to get in the way of this discussion -- for kneeling and standing... same approach?)... Thanks... Leo

Is there a similar "camp" for people that were juniors 30 years ago? :) As a starting SB shooter going to a 3 day camp to get schooled would be outstanding... especially if it involved a road trip... not to get in the way of this thread... are there such training options? Thanks, Leo (Mich...

I had ordered the dot from the custom shop -- scope was the purchased 3 years ago -- "chicken geoge" on steelchickens.com offers great service. I understand the dot I "big" so far, so good... but if Eric is shooting 1/8 or 1/10 then you have to follow success... works for me - ve...

I'm using my former silhoutte scope 6.5x20 EFR with "1/2" dot -- less strain, cover and touch... indoor has worked very well... 2' of snow between me and the outdoor test... :)

If I was looking to benchmark "setups" interesting is the angle this shooter's front forearm/wrist make... a little different then what I thought we we're "supposed" to do... straight lines/remove the joint. As a new shooter I have a similar angle, but the rifle sits in my upturn...

Contact "Perry" at Champion Shooters Supply -- I also shoot left and had to wait 7 weeks while a new "batch" of rails were made -- works just fine, and I used Leupold rimfire mounts (med) to attach my 6.5*20 EFR... on and off in a snap and CSS is a great shop to deal with... good...

Could be -- I'm still a newbie - but I can repeat the mistake on both the NRA and ISSF (smaller bull) targets. I have been working on my NPA and set-up (eyes open/closed/open - alignment) and will always have more more work to do... in need of a "virtual coach" :) For a lefty - everything ...

Do you have a "miss" - if you leave the "X&qu

Thoughts for a LH shooter - 6 Xs on a target and then 2 shoots 1 full ring to the right (!%!!%!%) - this right shift has be driving me crazy only on metallic sights - I suspect it has to do with my lateral head position (?) For a lefty... is my cheek position soft and I view through the right sight ...

Folks, at 48 I know need "reading glasses" -- I have a 1913 with a 10cm hammer head extension AND a 0.5 eagle eye. To be honest the the adjustable front aperature seems clear (far enough out of my "reading range" but I'm finding the bulls to be slightly fuzzy/irregular. I've play...

Thanks for the reference - much appreciated. All three have have great sites, but only 10.9 had pricing information ($85 for a glove... ouch). But I'll call the other two firms on Monday - nice to know there are local alternatives. Have a good day.

It's been fun! I was thinking of dedicated prone - but with this new rifle I'm working on my 3P setups and the the ease of adjustment and the range of adjustment compared to my 1907 stock is remarkable. There are four clear "wows" - I enjoy the narrow prone hold on the support hand - bette...
