Thanks for all the thoughts, folks. I shot a 3 card match the other evening, and scored 272/300. I felt I was too tired to be effective after 11 pm, so I cut it short. At any rate, shooting in the evening has been encouraging, so I will continue to give it a try, as time permits.

Yes, I think so. I haven't been able to play with one yet, but I don't think it will be replacing Steyr on the front lines any time soon. It does look like a fun 'can hunter' though, with more oomph than a typical pneumatic.

Glad to hear you may have found some bearings. There may be air gun competitions shot at 30 meters (a derivative of FT, perhaps?), but air pistol is not one of them. 10 meters (33 feet) is the standard distance for AP, and your Baikal was designed with that distance in mind. Enjoy.

Thank you for the suggestions, I had not considered a CO2 gun. I like the Benelli as well. The 604 is a great little gun, and as I said, I'm not going to test its limits anytime soon. I will do some more reading.
