Thanks for your help, folks. I don't know why that link didn't come up on a search, either, but it helped. I've been shooting my 46M as it was set up from the factory, a 3.5mm front post and 2.5mm rear notch. Seems silly in retrospect not to have fiddled with it, but I'm a newb and figured I'd work ...

When I squeeze trigger in past, dry fire valve opens right away. Now when I squeeze trigger at end, the final click-pop sound is delayed by about one second, sometimes it does not even pop at all. The IZH-46M can be dry fired, but you do it by manually cocking the breech cover only (see link below)...
