Pardini
I have a Pardini GT45. I believe the GT is just like the PC , just early. With a loaded mag inserted, there should be movement under spring tension on the slide catch-Just as much as no mag inserted. The reason for this is because with a loaded mag, the mag follower will not be in contact with the s...

Isabel, my concern is just my re-loading inexperience and caution, plus I was read some well meaning BS on another forum. I thought that before anything I will ask, and now I know a little more. I just had a quick look at my Pardini 45,and its like you say... there is ample chamber support. I also n...

Thank you for that link Haemmerli208s. Very interesting. Seems as if a Peters Stahl would be on par with a les baer. Naturally this will be offset by parts/service availability etc. In my case, living in the backwaters of Europe, the Peters might be a better option. One other issue is that most amer...

Head, er spaces
I hope I did not re-start any friction when I re-vived this older thread. Rover, the " seat 45 acp cases only on the mouth" advice was given to me by a few guys I know and subsequently read it also on other forums. However from my little experience I just wondered if perhaps the cases are ...

Hi, I am just a newbie reloader and while looking up 45 Acp tips I came across this old thread. Sorry for reviving this up again but this statement by Rover has me scratching my head : "Remember that you need to headspace on the bullet because the brass is all too short and is just held by the ...

If the longer barrels exhibit better accuracy, factors other than length might be at play. Perhaps the nature of the pressure impulse and twist rate have something to do with this. I am saying this because there does not appear to be reason why longer is more accurate. In flight, a spinning projecti...

Perhaps less than excellent shots like myself worry that their dubious trigger technique will shift the shot out of their average holding area.
In my case at least, I improved significantly when I started to pay more attention to follow through.
My S&W 52 puts it in my face squarely.

.....cant wait.......We could have a minimum barrel length restriction.
Ahh, the joys of bureaucracy.

Free lunch maybe someday
Interesting input Ben. The center of my attention was really dwell time. I agree that the accuracy limits of a modern FP (in a vice) has been reached, but the dwell penalty seems bizarre to me at least. However I am sure someone is reading this and laughing their heads off at my naive assumptions. C...

....Scratching my head as to why a longer barrel on an FP makes it more accurate when it should make it potentially less because it increases dwell time ( more opportunity for slight movements to show up in longer periods). The benefits of a longer sight base are obvious, maybe thats what was behind...

Most accurate
I have owned a vast array of 9mm pistols and while RO duty fired more types I can remember as well. I dont care for action shooting much so most of my quest has been for accuracy shooting with one hand. At one time I bought a 3500 euro Sphinx, used Sig p210 various other types. I gave all of these u...

I do not shoot FP but was watching a friend shoot his free pistol the other day and a thought entered my head that lingers still. The question I ask is this: Surely, bullet dwell time is significant in FP; In which case why the long barrels ? One can make good use of a long sight base WITHOUT moveme...

Peters stahl
Yes, there seems to be some confusion about the Peters Stahl mark. I have seen KPS, PSW, Omega, Springfield etc all connected in some manner. However most people I know speak highly of linkless design and general workmanship. I have done some research with my admittedly limited German, but I have ye...

Does anyone here have any real experience with Peters Stahl 45's ? They surface often for sale here in Europe. They have this odd double extractor and the one I have handled had really tight lockup....No movement between barrel muzzel and frame both fully forward and slide partially withdrawn but pr...

Not many matchgun gunsmiths in these parts, so i have to go through this on my own. I had another go at the range, once more at 50 ft on a B2 target; I did a little bit better than last time so more than likely its just the new experience with a 45 thats throwing me off. Oh, did a typo in my previou...

Please read "used" instead of "sued" Pardini in my last post.

Re your odd, er... ejections, I just sued my Pardini 45 and it too throws them straight up most of the time.
Maybe we can rig an ejection seat for each case.

Trigger overtravel
Just how does trigger overtravel figure in the overall equation? A while back, while reducing this adjustment on AP at the range, someone told me that maybe too little is a bad idea. Made me stop and think : Perhaps its better to have overtravel so that the trigger pull force is "dissipated&quo...
