I have both

I own and shoot both an SP New and an SP Rapid Fire. I was told that the RF version might be a little less accurate than the Standard Pistol version. The dealer, Larry Carter, theorized that the chamber on the RF was not as tight, to facilitate feeding. Curious, I installed an Aimpoint on the RF, an...

Larry has done work on my Pardinis (K2s and SP) in the past. If I needed the gun for an upcoming match, I got it back, repaired, in fairly short order. If I told him that I didn't need it for a while, the repair took a while. But, I assume that's because other repairs, for other shooters, who had up...

It would be sporting of you to register, though, MG2-owner.

Is there some reason that you refuse to?

The positive: I have seen GP-100's on the line at DR leg matches here in PA. They are certainly accurate enough. But, I'm not sure they are as easy to do an action job on as the usual Smith or Colt. It's usually possible to pick up a used Model 19 Smith at a pretty reasonable price, and, unless abus...

sol,

My point was not to extoll the virtues of Remington SV. My point was that .22's do seem to have their favorite ammo, and that trying a variety is a good idea.

I picked up a High Standard Ten--X at a gun show, a few years ago. Had everything with it, including the test target, signed by Bob Shea. The test target was shot with Remington Standard Velocity, and the group was impressive. I'd never had any luck with Remington SV (Blue box), and, instead, tried ...

The earliest models had "The Victor" on them. I have one, with steel rib.

Later, that was changed to "Victor."

It's funny. I found mine used, but without the barrel weight. With the steel rib, I can see why the previous owner "lost" the weight.

Eley Target Pistol gives excellent reliability and accuracy through my Pardini SP New. I also have one of the RF variations (Mech trigger) of that gun, and it eats it without a bobble. For that matter, I use it in the "New" SP's, because it worked so well in an older model that I've since ...

I prefer the Colt Officer's Model Match .38. Better balance than the Python, better trigger. And a lot cheaper in the used market than a Python.

Ed,

I shoot a revolver in my indoor league, to give me practice for DR matches. Now, is that enough to advance? I'll let you know. But, it's what I am able to do. While I hope to be Distinguished, mostly, I just like to shoot.

The HS barrels were excellent. Don Nygord competed with a customized Sport King in the 1995 Pan Am Games, and used the factory barrel to take the Silver in Standad Pistol. I doubt that any accuracy problems you may have stem from factory quality. But.....Are you using iron sights, or have you mounte...

Maybe we work at a more relaxed pace here, but there's always a break between the 22 and CF matches, and an even longer break between the CF and 45 matches. If you're concerned, just explain to the match director that you might need a little extra time to switch uppers on your SP20. The "preper...

I've been trying revolver for bullseye, as practice for the DR match.

I may not win, but I do get to laugh at my friends while they scurry around, crouched down, looking for brass, as I toss my full moon clips into the bag.
