I agree with PaulB. I run local matches. Getting started was all out of my pocket. Attendance recently is good enough that I am not paying out of pocket for targets and such any more. I would help at local matches without expectation. Everybody is a volunteer and not being compensated. But I would n...

FredB, I agree with you completely, the description in the first paragraph of my post is what some folks do wrong when shooting the light trigger of the FP and why they are more successful with the two stage trigger!

When using the Toz, your trigger finger is off the trigger and the muscles in your trigger finger and hand are tensioned so as not the touch or squeeze the trigger. Once you decide to squeeze off the shot, your trigger finger goes from this “off the trigger” tension to moving. So does the rest of th...

The key to success of short training moments like this is probably to plan going in exactly what you want to accomplish. Dry firing is not just firing rounds with out live ammo. Dry firing could be specific drill to improve certain aspects of the shoot process. Consider day one just working on sight...

Yes, one friend just order and received the Eveready 504...which work...but are carbon zinc and hence do not last very long. The original was the Varta battery...alkaline; which appears to be discontinued!

Morini 84i Battery

Searching around for batteries for my Morini 84 electronic trigger...can't find any battery from Varta (v74px). or the alkaline equivalent from Excell that I had purchased in the past.

Are these 15Vlt batteries still made?

Is the Eveready 504 the only choice?

I am curious as to your question, why does this happen? What precisely do you mean by "this." Your shooting a five with the dynamic aiming technique? I would like to offer that using the dynamic aiming technique; you sometimes take may your attention away from sight alignment and transfer ...

Several years back now, I attended a training camp in Colorado Springs. The National team coach asked one of the participants how low below the bull did he hold his front sight. Did the shooter hold the six ring? The five ring? The four ring? Or perhaps the bottom of the scoring rings? Where did he ...

PaulB, I am familiar with your range, having shot bullseye pistol there on some cool nights with Karl W. many years ago. You probably have about as good a heating system there as you can get for the circumstances. If the range was maintained at some reasonable temperature when no one was on site, ma...

I think there are some things a man just has to develop for himself. I concur greatly with Mr. Levene in the point that he raises about having the sights lined up off the bench. Reading carefully, I hear him saying that his wrist is in a fixed position from the time he comes off the bench. Both the ...

Consider this approach to drills: 1. Your wrist is a movable joint, and few actions are intended to have the wrist joint stay in fixed position. Hence, you have to specifically train the wrist to stay in a fixed position. These drills are around sight alignment. a. Hold sight alignment against a bla...

Training vs Practise

I have not been shooting nearly as much these days as i the past. I am more of a runner these days doing 1/2 marathons, 10K runs etc. As I have learned more about training for these running events, I am amazed at how far behind shooters are versus other sports in training techniques. I rarely if eve...
