Re: Reliability of Pardini Sp and Match Guns MG4

Love my Pardini SP to death and despise anything made by MG. I had one of the first MG .22's from Nygord, he bought it back from me promptly as mine was one that couldn't fire more than 1 shot before jamming. The clearing of the jam required quite a big dissection in order to clear. PIECE OF CRAP. &...

I don't feel that stippling on the stock would render any form of an improper modification on any weapon...."Doc"

Rover it's great being a curmudgeon---welcome aboard-----now you need to befriend a cat. It seems as if I remember an old poem about a curmudgeon and his cat. I liked it at the time....cannot remember even some of it.....oh well that goes with the Old Man territory......."Doc" (The Crusty ...

If you are shooting an "overseas" manfactured gun. GOTO Home Dopey and get a metric set of Allen wrenches (CHEE-E-E-E-E-P) and you are set for life. ......."Doc"

Re: Age degradation of skills

I can tell you that I reached 84 and soon 85, and the degradation began slowly at 83 and has been running at Olympian speeds since then. The loss of muscle is most noticeable as I have difficulty in lifting my Pardini and getting any kind of sight hold. The trigger finger isn't a problem in that I c...

Re: Free Pistol at 25yd

Before the "modifications" done to an Indoor Range, we used to shoot the 25yd FP Target Indoors. As far as I was concerned I like the 25 yard target as the scoring rings were not as "teeny" and I used to shoot a better score when we used the 25 yard target. Just my observations.....

Re: Why Shooting Jackets for Rifle but not Pistol?

I'm o-o-o-ld enough to remember when the Russian et al FP team showed up at the London Olympics all wearing these heavy looking leather jackets and what looked like ski boots. They all developed an backward leaning style with their off hands using the, LARGE side pockets, too help tightening their p...

Re: WC Pistol setting bad examples

I had the occasion to be calling the line for the Long Island International Pistol Intersectional Regional one merry March day, a few years back. We had a visiting shooter from New Jersey, who was a reasonably tall German specimen, who kept swigging on a bottle of Sprite, throughout the match. The w...

Re: If you want a FAS 6004 I'd order soon.

Rover, I admire your demeanor. As an "geezer" myself I considered this Tank limitation of 10 years to be just another way for the ISSF to lord it over all of us. My answer is the same as yours, I couldn't let it bother me....as I will never, not ever, no never shoot in International matche...

Re: Duracell Batteries Bad News

Yes, I was wondering if I was the only one with these Duracell problems. I have had many close calls with them and damned near lost an expensive (wow) Leica to them....had to play hard ball and use a lawyer (expensive) to get them to payup for repairs on the Leica (also expensive). Pssst. don't use ...

Re: Mystique of the S&W Model 52?

Having used one for a few years...IMHO the trigger was really nice and crisp---however when reloading for this gun for competition---it will and has driven quite a few owners to seek psychiatric help and meds. The wadcutter tends to tip and present side shots and cause scoring problems. any screw up...
