Offhand Advice Request

Currently we have a young lady in our local 4-H SS program who is doing exceptionally well with sporter air rifle. In the offhand she holds elevation hard but with a ten shot group I see her producing a straight line from the 6/7 at 9 o’clock to the same at 3 o’clock. Recommendations?

Re: top-gun-electronic-trainer

Lot's of posts about it on the US long range/highpower forum. Got mine about a two months ago when it was $600. Using it to get back into Highpower after a 2 year hiatus. Never used a SCATT so I can't compare. Works fine for me. You need good lighting for your indoor "range." Only complain...

Seems they do the same for Overall. Hypothetically, your state could sweep the Nationals in every event but one - you didn't have enough kids to field one team event and would be prevented from taking First place or much less any place in State rankings. The state overall now leans towards who has t...

Mr. Martin, the weight I'm referring to is this one ... http://www.champchoice.com/prod-DAISY_FRONT_SIGHT_BARREL_WEIGHT-1671.aspx? to be used in conjunction with the Daisy Avanti Precision Rear Diopter Sight. Sent an email directly to Daisy and they responded a few minutes ago ... The hole is to mou...

Daisy Barrel Weight ?

Our 4-h group recently acquired a couple of new daisy 888's with the improved rear sight and an improved front sight and barrel weight all from daisy. We noticed that the barrel weight has a tapped hole in the top that runs through to the bore and falls under the aperture but there was no allen scre...

Negative. The 6 were all right eye dom, rh shooters. Patterns usually described as above. All seem tighter in elevation versus wind age so most have an elliptical pattern left/right prone being high left to low right more or less. Sitting is elliptical low left to high right. Kneeling elliptical l t...

Thanks for the replies. Not following through is a problem for us as well. I had six younger BB shooters on the line recently. All will follow through if reminded but after a few shots they go back to "pop-ups". They were scored with the Orion system and all of them were centered on the ta...

Target Analysis

Looking for data/reading material on how to interpret groupings in the different positions to help with 4-H but not having much luck with google. Example - In prone position the rh shooter has a tight elliptical pattern running diagonal from high right to low left. Same shooter shoots kneeling with ...

Thanks for the suggestions. I had a couple suggestions for the M1 sling over at the CMP forum. We'll try that first since the price was low. I'll also see about getting some pins. Any suggestions for training vids for the young ones to watch on practice days that get rained out? Looking for ones tha...

Sling's ???

I'd like to replace the nylon slings on our 4-H clubs rifles to something better. We currently use Savage MK1's, Daisy 853's and Daisy 499's. Suggestions?

Thanks for the reply Mr. Martin. I'll give it a go on one and see what happens. It would be nice to upgrade but I paid for these myself but for use by the club. The limited funding we have to start with we have to spread it out. NRA grant is in the works but taking longer than expected. Recent hot d...

Daisy 853 modS

Recently volunteered to lead a 4-Hss club. Also purchased two used 853's from the CMP for the older kids to use. No complaints on accuracy but the triggers are atrocious. I've read about the mods on pilkguns but have a couple questions. Is this the best method to use or is there a better way to do i...
