I finally received my 2000U from Potter Firearms in Austrailia, thanks to ISS being the importer. Sad to say, I have heard that Potter is closing up shop.

Photos later.

French forums for parts?

So I am looking for a used grip for the 2000U pistol. I have tried posting a message (in French) to http://www.letirsportif.com/forum, but they keep deleting the posts.

Any other french sites or forums where I would likely have more success?

Sounds like a 1407? Here are some photos http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h149/keithwwalker/IMAG0428.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h149/keithwwalker/IMAG0429.jpg I would estimate condition at 90% or better, but that's to my untrained eyes. I agree, its a bit steep compared to these: http://...

Valuation on Anchutz 54 Match Rifle

Just got back from the Portland Gun Show. Not much target related there, but there was a really nice Anschutz 54 match rifle with adjustable butt, and front sight only. The walnut stock was in almost perfect condition and there was a 25 year medallion embedded towards the butt. It was on offer for $...

That is right, if ordering from outside of the country, they should not include VAT.

Re: Pneumatic recoil damping

wiki has a nice graphic of the P7 delayed blowback, would be nice if there was a graphic on the SSP like that http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/26/P7_Gas-DelayBBack.PNG If you ask for recoil damping stricto sensu, only the SSP. But pneumatics is also used to lock the breech in some big...

I heard that figure 8's help with your human 'rythym' of movement. You are never really still, unless you can stop your heart beating, and even then... That is where those laser based systems like SCATT can help visualize immensely. Too bad its so damned expensive http://www.scatt.com/software.htm h...

Pneumatic recoil damping

Which pistols have recoil damping with the assistance of pneumatics?
Any good explanations of these systems on the web?

Thanks

Foredom and Proxxon make reciprocating hammer type devices. Either called chisel, or hammer. How they do it? Stippled pistol grips?

How do grip manufacturer's achieve that fine stippling on their grips. I have seen some aftermarket grips that can't achieve that effect. Is there a standard tool that does this? http://www.huntershouse.dk/images/sports/sk%C3%A6fter/rink/fwb-aw93-srb0-1.jpg http://www.rpgfirearms.com.au/HI%20RES/FWB...

So does a shooters lens have any advantage whatsoever over contact lenses?
Can the prescription be more exact?

I am nearsighted, but with age, my sight @ distance is
improving a little, but not enough for 25m shooting.

MEC Centra also has diopters in the rear sight, but not the front. I wonder why they sell them if they are illegal in ISSF? Anyway, I am slightly nearsighted. I can drive a car without my glasses, but a target is too fuzzy beyond 10m. I guess it forces people who are really competitive to have corre...
