Re: Material used for Grip Molding?

Thanks Morten:
it's reassuring to know that Morini uses the stuff, I'll have a look next time I visit Biltema.

Many beginners don't see this problem. It takes a while to learn that shooting is difficult. So when I try to shoot lefthanded, I use the "naive" half of my brain, and I just point the sights at the target, squeeze the trigger slowly, and BAM! I Guess if I start doing this more often, I'll...

From practical experience with many lowspeed APs I've found that you need about 450 fps to punch good holes in quality paper targets. The Izzy is an example of a gun that passes this test With a small margin. I've seen accuracy tests published on the net suggesting that there is an optimum around 52...

Just a thought: Your problem seems to start at the moment the system comes under pressure. So maybe the cylinder valve opens to early and should be adjusted? Then you'll only have increased resistance for maybe the last turn of the thread. On my MG1E it's about 1/2 turn from where the valve opens wi...

The FWB mod2 is a very nice gun;

I'm surprised you don't like the grip.
It fits me like a glove and I don't think shooting one of these is much of a handicap at all.
Highly recommended if you have access to bulk CO2.

Light pellets fly faster, so they punch cleaner holes in the target.......

If you intend to shoot mechanical trigger only, removing the battery ought to give the judges peace of mind.

The FWB 3x and 4x series have evolved from the same basic mechanism as the 10x series. They really belong to the same "family" except for the power plant (pump vs pcp). This is easy to verify by looking at drawings of the internal workings of different models at FWBs own web-site.

I've tried a C5 cylinder on a model 2 and it works.
The C5 (5 shot) is shorter than the others and has a short cylinder.

The model 2 uses the cylinder valve as a firing valve, so it has no pressurized chamber. This means the cylinder valve stays closed until you fire a shot.

Some more info: Pumping is no great challenge. I've got both a Hills and an FX, the effort is about the same. The Hills appears a bit more solid. I haven't tried the newest FX; it appears to have a "kinder gear" for those who find the final high pressure tough. The Gehman and Anschutz pump...

To most people archery is an "inner game" just like other forms of shooting where the performance is invisible to the uninitiated. I realize this is the case with many sports: when watching TV, I "project" mentally and get "inside" the performer in sports that I've trie...

Even if overhauled, there's the issue of tank life in an old pistol. Also make sure that you make the right long term investment. You probably don't want to buy another one too soon..... Have you made a list of the features that you want? Extra cylinder? Built in pressure gauge? Multiadjustable grip...

In the US, archery was one of the most viewed sports in the London olympics according to NBC. NBC was wondering why. They speculated the interest in archery resulted because the movie the Hunger Games created an interest in archery. Archery felt threatened and did a total redesign of their competit...

An old guy in a competing club has been doing this for years. He's made a frontsight from transparent red plastic. It almost seems to glow in the dark...... I experienced that 0° stance is working best for me. My neck and also my shoulder has no problem with that, assumed some stretching and warming up half an hour before the shooting begins. What I also discovered is, that I'm lifting the AP up, going slowley down and at the stopping point, the latiss...

Rob took the bait: Nothing is obvious; your trigger finger has 3 joints and they all move. 90 degrees would relate to the finger tip, but many of us probaly have most of the movement in the middle joint. So this is not as simple as it may appear. And the "movement" should be a slow squeeze...

Looking at this again, I wonder what's the problem? Maybe NPA does exist after all? Are you pointing at the centre naturally or by twisting your hand? The answer may be that the grip of your pistol needs modification. And there's nothing wrong about adjusting you sights: which of your shots are the ...

Have you tried supporting your arm?
Much easier to do good smooth triggerwork with a really steady hold.

Also look closely to make sure your front sight is really well centered in the rear notch. Surprisingly easy to overlook a tendency to offset this a little bit.

It's hard to give a sensible answer, and I can see that any action can have an unpredictable outcome.

I suggest you Google: air pistol injury (I tried)

This should give you sufficient info to answer your questions.
Just reading the first half dozen hits provides the needed statistics etc.
