I'm not so sure. I think the rearsight is for a 601, and that the 600 & 601 rearsights are not necessarily 100% interchangeable.

My recollection is that that the shooter was Walter Frescura, and that the rifle was at least to some extent of his own devising. But my recollection isn't always reliable, likewise probably it's an age/time thing and likewise I'm not ploughing through years of old magazines. Sorry not to be more he...

The Universal has a muzzle tube with a dovetail, so you can fit alternative high or low foresights.

I believe that Walter's rifle had the action permanetly bonded into the stock so the barrel could be free-floated. If I was going to update the action, this is what I'd look at. I wouldn't. I'd use a barrel clamp and float the action. But I'd be wondering how I was going to get all the adjustabilit...
