Re: mec swap

Just borrowed one of these off fellow shooter (he didnt like it at all, caused him to overload [multi bull targets]) as am left eye dominant & thought it might be worth a try to gain a bit more clarity with aging eyes. With only quick set up it seems to work pretty well, but needs much more test...

Re: Bursitis

I use this cup/ring made from foam to take pressure of tip of elbow. If I dont use it, I could be off shooting for a week or two till elbow comes right again.

This is my latest project. Alloy milled stock.Ugly green powdercoat(it looked great on the sample) 2013 Action set back as semi bull to make loading like a Bleiker. Trigger is mechanical now -electric was a bit unreliable Shilen barrel .As this is a prone only rifle I have kept the Butt mount up mo...

Sounds really interesting, can you put some pictures up? How have you resolved the trigger activation?

Ammo used by top ISSF shooters

Just been watching 50m Prone World cup final on ISSF TV. Excellent shooting by Vebjoern Berg but not enough to peg back Sergei Martynov. My question is, does anyone know what ammo Sergei uses? In footage it's just an unmarked orange box. And none of the leading manufactures are claiming bragging ri...

Thanks Westy & others.
I have training techniques for other aspects of shooting technique (just prone for me) It was trigger release that I lacked ways of checking and/or training to improve.

Happy shooting.

Just out of interest, if you watch the recent ISSF TV final of the 50m Prone (long version) at about 2:50-3:00min then again at 8:33-8:50min you see the Russian shooter Artem doesnt grip the stock at all, his fingers all just lay along side of grip. http://www.issf-sports.org/tvplayer.aspx?videokey=...

It is time and money, but you really need to do test groups at different torque settings. My 1813 with the particular batch of Eley match I have at the the best setting is 4.5Kn. But if your not so worried about achieving a certian group size 5Kn would be Std.

Can anyone comment, re the removal and replacing the tube/tuner that you need to have exactly the same torque setting for your clamping system as this could cause a veriation in harmonic's. When someone at my club mentioned it to me I changed to removing the butt plate instead of the bloop tube to g...

Hi I'm no expert, but here are my thoughts. If you only do prone maybe consider adding weight to stock or barrel as this will deaden recoil. Make sure you get the ballance right thou. Re your butt plate and position, look to position the centre of butt hook as close to centre line of the bore so th...

Lapua ammo

Hi Folks In my short shooting career have mainly used Eley Match, based on cost & availablity. Also seemed helpful having speeds & batch No's on packets. As I consider my ammo options for next season I am seeking advice from Lapua users. Q.1. Have you noticed changes in consistancy & gr...
