Hi,
Does anybody know where to get this kind of laminated wood for a DIY project on rifle stock? Thanks a lot.

Re: Air Pellet Shelf Life
Thank you all for your input. That is interesting. Although I believe the packaging may have something to do with the rate of oxidation, I didn't expect it was so extreme in the case of the R10 Match Plus. I am curious so I opened another tin of pellets from H&N the Finale Match which was purcha...

Air Pellet Shelf Life
Hi I have heard some conflicting opinions on whether lead pellets have shelf life or not. Please see attached photo I took today on two different batches of RWS R10 pellets bought about the same time (2015). Both batches were purchased from a reputable dealer in Germany so I trust them to have good ...

Olympic/ISSF Style 10m Air Rifle Shooting in Canada
Hi. Is there any Canadian shooter in ISSF 10m air rifle discipline in this forum who can tell me if firearm license is required to own an air rifle (7.5 joules) in Canada? The reason I am asking is that I am moving to Canada from Hong Kong in a few month’s time. I would like to know the legal requir...

New Air-Rifle rules (Chest support and weights)
A friend of mine forwarded the following to me: CHEST SUPPORT WEIGHTS ON AIR RIFLES, RULES 7.4.2.6, b & 7.6.1.2 The 2013 ISSF Rules clearly state that chest support weights (sometimes advertised as “Brustanlagen”) that project forward from the lower part of butt-plates on 50m rifles are illegal ...

Chest Rest new rule
Chest Rests. Any attachments (Brustanlagen) projecting forward from the lower portion of the butt plate are prohibited. Does this means it is now illegal to support the rear stock on right chest if you are using a metal stock air rifle? Like this? http://www.centra-visier.de/documents/Grafiken/Produ...

Shooting Jacket Stiffness Test
Our local shooting authority has started to test for shooting jacket stiffness and thickness for open tournaments according to ISSF rules. Last Saturday, we have had our first tournament with this new testing. They used a Gehmann testing machine (similar to the one seen in Gehmann catalogue). This m...

How to shave a wood stock?
I have a FWB 700 UNI AR. I need to reduce the barrel centreline to understock distance by shaving off about half an inch of wood. It is the area where you put onto your supporting fist. How would you do it? If I use a plane, the grip blocks the path of the planing action. Can I remove that much of w...

Adding Weights to AR (ISSF rules)
According to ISSF Rulebook 7.4.2.3 Exterior Weights 7.4.2.3.1 Only barrel weights within a radius of 30 mm from the center of the barrel are permitted. Barrel weights may be moved along the barrel. 7.4.2.3.2 Any other weights must be within the dimensions of the stock. My AR is the woodstock version...

Stock length
I have relatively long forearm and as a result have a longer stock length set up compared to other shooters of similar height and built as myself. If you look behind a shooter (not along the line of fire but behind his back perpendicular to the line of fire), you may find most if not all shooters ha...

C of G and weight distribution on AR Standing
Suppose we have two identical rifles. The only difference is the way the weight is distributed along the length of the rifles. Rifle 1: the weight is evenly distributed along the whole length of the rifle. Rifle 2: the weight is concentrated in the butt plate and the muzzle. (I know these are imposs...

Cheek Placement on Standing AR
When you place your cheek onto the cheek piece in standing position, 1) do you place the cheek bone directly onto the cheek piece with minimum flesh between the bone and the cheek piece? 2) Or do you use your face muscle to act as a cushion under the cheek bone? I don't you if you guys understand wh...

Stopper Buttplates for air rifles
Has anyone used the air rifle butt plate made by Stopper, Germany?
http://www.stopper.de/product_info.php/ ... plate.html
These butt plates do not have the usual anti-slip rubber nipples. Is it a good idea?

Anti-Slip Material on Cheek Piece
I have 3 questions: 1) Is putting anti-slip material on the cheek piece on an air rifle legal according to ISSF? I know putting these kind of material under the front stock is illegal. 2) If legal, where can I get those self-sticking neoprene like open cell foam sheets that I have seen people put on...
