It took about 15 years before I came to my senses and got a free pistol. In all that time going to various California indoor and outdoor ranges, shooting rifles and pistols, plinking, competing in action events, and just generally loafing around and burning powder, I saw a grand total of two free pi...

It was just me and two other guys, neither of whom was you, Jonathan! What's up with that? Anyway, looks like times are a bit tough for Black Mountain. Apparently they had a bit of a falling out with Prado management over the air pistol hall, and things kind of fell apart after that. Sounds like the...

Tool arrived yesterday. The tool head is too big to fit through the hole in the grips; you have to unscrew it, insert it into the chamber, and thread the rod back into it through the hole in the grips. After use, a pair of needle nose pliers are needed to loosen the tool head in the loading port. Ex...

Just FWIW, I can't see anything wrong with the chamber, but I have noticed a pattern of scratches on each fired case -- including one corresponding with the firing pin -- so that seems the most likely culprit. I will order the Brownell's tool (thanks Fred!) and update with results. Thanks to all for...

TOZ-35 extraction problem
Sorry if this is a repeat, but I've done the search... Essentially, my TOZ (older one, not the "M") works perfectly but does not fully extract/eject regardless of ammunition. (Have so far tried Eley Club, RWS Rifle Target, and an old lot of PMC Scoremaster). The ejector pulls the cases hal...

FWIW, I have fairly long fingers, wear a size large glove, and use a TOZ with original grips in the large size. I was surprised to find that I had to slide the trigger almost all the way back to get it comfortable for me. It's hard for me to imagine a hand that would be comfortable with the trigger ...

I've been wondering about the same thing, but with the added complication of sub six aiming. Sub six on the 50 meter target is obviously a lot further below the bullseye than the same hold on the 50 foot target. I'm assuming that I'll just have to learn the required sight adjustment by trial and err...

Stance and NPA for Free Pistol vs. Bullseye
For Bullseye I took the "standard" advice about finding correct stance/NPA: eyes closed, raising pistol, opening eyes, etc. I found that I take a fairly "square" position to the target. I am not completely facing the target, but my stance is perhaps 20 degrees away from it. Now I...
