Daisy 887/8

The 887/8 are sporter class rifles. They will shoot 10's all day long if you can. The sights are Chinese, not the gun. I have a bunch of those sights on various guns and they all work fine. Your chances of getting a good one are greater then getting a bad one and if you do get a bad one call Daisy.

Here's a diagram

I don't know what the thread size is, but the major diameter of the threads on the 888 cylinder measures .802. Maybe someone else can give more specific info. The diagram is the adapter that Daisy sells, but it doesn't say Daisy or Avanti on it anywhere, so I'm guessing it's some standard.

Comparison Testing

This may not mean anything other than most of your kids are going to be better shots than I am. I show a comparison with a Walther LG300 which I know will shoot a one hole group (.020 CTC.) I used a scope mounted on each rifle to give me the best precision. I tried to lock the guns in a plastic clea...

Wish I'd known that Pilkguns did Walther. Is regulator the common term for "Transformator?"

Jim Edmonson will be posting a bunch of classic guns tomorrow. I don't know if he will be posting them on TargetTalk as well.

FWB 300 rifles are wonderful but I don't think they or the newer match rifles would fit your stated purpose. The triggers on these match rifles are measured in ounces. People talk about feeling the first stage or creep in a match trigger. They have more sensitive fingers then I. If I touch the trigg...

Post It Notes

Another method is to buy some of the small Post It Notes and cut them in half through the sticky side. You now have two pads. Just peal off a sheet and stick it on your non shooting eye lens. No sticky residue. Small enough to still let light in but blocks the view.

I sent it to Champion's Choice. They replaced the "Transformator." What ever that is, it cost $225. They tuned it all up and test fired it. Sent me a target with a .190 hole in it from 5 shots at 10M. The gentleman that I bought the gun from paid for the repairs. All it cost me was the shi...

Walther LG300 Problem

I just bought this from an ad in the classified section. I filled the cylinder to 300 bar and took it outside to sight it in. I got off a couple of shots then nothing. The sound when pulling the trigger is louder than when on the practice mode, but no air is metered. I emailed the person I bought it...

FAS

Sounds like Rafaele is wooing Scott. Does this mean we may see a US Importer in the near future? The FAS AP609 is a good value for the money, but a real pain to own with no US support. I had to order parts from Rafaele and get Tim at Mac-1 to reseal mine.

Equipment

If you said you were shooting say 385 I might agree with you that the more adjustable high end guns would be a plus. Not having to charge the gun for each shot is sure a nice convenience. The Izzy, however, is going to produce just as good a group as the high end guns. When I think I want something ...

Get a pellet rifle

For what you'd spend for a backstop good enough for a .22, you could buy a pellet rifle and pellet trap. Just as good for practice.
