Re: Drop in Barrel for Anschutz 1913

The Sporter Benchrest crowd is having great success with reverse taper bbls about 21" long. Check out Killoughs Shooter Supply for in stock bbl blanks and the dimensions. You would still need it chambered and crowned. I am using a sporter reverse taper Benchmark 3 groove on my Hall Unlimited BR...

A lot of top level US BR shooters are using reverse taper bbls. Seems like these could be ideal for position shooters. You can go to the killough site and check out the available contours of the Benchmark bbls. I am sure that Dan would happily send you the weight of the blanks.

There is a gunsmith in TX that does very good work on Annie rebbls. Evelio is his first name..... Senior moment. I see two options. Knock the bbls out of the receivers and then cut off the chamber end and rechamber and then Loctite the bbls back into the rec. You could also have the OD cut down a bi...

Laws can always be circumvented. It's the complete lack of credible punishment that encourages criminal behavior. This is one area where the Koran makes a little sense. Start nipping off fingers and then hands and bring back public hangings and the crime rate would plummet. Then there would be no ne...

The whole "private sale" thing is nonsense also. Most private sales between complete strangers I have been involved in or have knowledge of the seller insisted on seeing the buyer's state issued 'carry' permit. Nothing was written down but the seller made a worthy effort to see that he was...

There's nothing more important than the right of criminals to buy untraceable guns for cash no questions asked. It's against the law for criminals to own guns. Laws are pretty useless against people that don't respect them. When a government starts using the actions of the criminal element [ or ins...

Walther KK200

I just picked up a Walther KK200 off GB to use as a BR action donor. I like the clamped bbl set up that is similar in concept [ but superior in design imo ] to the Annie 2013. I slugged the factory bbl and it feels like a current state of the art constantly tapering aftermarket bbl. I fitted a Harre...

Here's my latest experiment. This bbl was a throw in with another used 2013 bbl I bought. It was 21" which is far too short for my tastes [ BR ]. The bore and chamber looked very nice [ supposedly a Shilen, no idea who cut the chamber ]. Just for the heck of it I mounted it to a 40X and shot it...

Can you file a bevel on the bottom edge of your existing risers ?? I had to do this on a BKL scope ring so I could swap the scope back and forth on 2 rifles without having to move the rear ring every time.

I don't think I have had a rf that didn't do this. It's just normal. There is no way to duplicate the bore condition of the first shot that the remaining shots experience. Each shot leaves a lot of residue in the bore. I only compete in rf br and I wouldn't think about firing record shots until I ha...

Remove the firing pin assy and put the bolt back in the rec and cycle it and see if the problem still exists.

There is a spring loaded detent in the root of the bolt handle that could be causing your issue so check it closely. On my Annies I always removed this detent.

The main structural member of a bore brush is a twisted steel core. The last thing you should do is put rough pieces of steel in a drill and stick them in your chamber and spin them around in there.

You should create yourself a split arbor and use that if you feel the need to polish a chamber.

That's great. The smallest little things can trip you up. Just think if you had arbitrarily decided to use some other on hand ammo fate wouldn't have bit you. That's life. keep pushing ! I am not intimately familiar with the adapter plate but I am with 2013's and the 1800/1900 54 actions. First a question. Does the adapter plate have a recoil lug surface that engages the 1900's recoil lug slot? Next, does the plate have recoil lug surfaces that bear against the stock's recoil lug ? ...
