I had the same problem at the start. Ernie was very kind in pointing out the procedure to take it apart. I cleaned it ans then put a little MDS grease on the pins so that they would not move around. Increased the weight of the trigger a little. Works great. I havent had a misfire for the last 2 year...

Thanks Brian, I will just do that and ring up Stefano Calzetti for that list you gave me. Otherwise my only complaint is clearing misfires or accidentally triggering in dry fire and having to pull back the slide. am wondering actually why the clearances were not designed to eject an unfired round ea...

Ernie's got a point on keeping the gun clean. The lever on mine got stuck in the open position. I took the assembly apart cleaned it and put it back inside. As the pins that hold the trigger assembly together have no circlips on the side, I suspect that they move out of place and jam the lever's mov...

I do have an MG5E which by the name alone might raise alarms. There is one more advantage of the electronic over the mech trigger and that it's so easy to dry fire. During comps, you may leave the firing line and when you get back, you will need to do a handful of shots to warm up again which the me...

My level of skill can not really make the difference between the mechanical and the electronic. I tried one of the mechanical versions that we have here. Our champ however swears by the electronic trigger. I'm sure both comps are fine and it's an aesthetic matter only. My grip needed a little smooth...

I have a 3 piece release mechanism on an electronic trigger. It has misfired but I think it's because the trigger weight was too low, the screw was practically all the way. I've increased the tension and have not gotten again a misfire yet (and improved my score too though still get my wildshot). Ex...

I m using an FWB P40. I practically unscrewed the second stage weight adjustment screw to the lightest possible. I think the Julian has a point. Coming from a 500gr total trigger makes the last grams feel like nothing. But it seems that Fred has a point in his choice (surely, his experience his more...

Sorry for the confusion. The total weight is 500gr however broken down in say 480gr for the 1st stage and 20gr for the second stage. I think that's legal.. Any thoughts if it should be say, 350/150gr or 480/20gr? The 480/20gr is closer to a FP since the final shot (which is what I feel by and large)...

Weight for Second Stage
I ve tried to do a search on the optimal weight for the second stage, but couldn't find any. I know the answer could be the usual, "As you like it..." but I wanted to ask the resident experts for their thoughts on the advantages of having a very light second stage (as to cut on my search /...

After reading this chain, I could not resist. I had to clean my Rapid Fire and Free Pistols and bond with them. But needed a quick comment if I'm doing it right or wrong. I pull small cotton balls (the size of spit balls) that were soaked in a few drops of Hoppes 9 using a nylon line inserted from t...

I'm trying to figure out if the issues on the reliability are really so problematic or if there is an issue on the rather vast array of adjustments that can be made on the gun. If you read the Italian press review, one 'defect' they point out is the amount of variability that can be introduced that ...

MG5E Question on what to do with the moustache
Quick question.
Any MG5E owners that use the 2 moustaches provided keep them on the pistol when boxing the same? The box provided seems to have the moustache positioned in the foam but the box does not want to close. Am I doing something wrong?

Even the venerable Beretta has had some problems. The current 92FS used to be the 92 F which with the the stopper S, the slide would fly off into the face of the user. I guess the discussion is whether the problems associated with the first run were really too much for a reasonable / prudent person....

Your shooting habits and costs
Out of curiosity, who has moved away from shooting heavy disciplines to the .177 AP or the .22lr disciplines because of cost? I used to shoot 9mm and then 12ga, but I found myself happier with a .177 FWB P40. Cost of ammo was a reason. So I sold the 9mm and the 12ga Benelli is just at home for defen...

I ll agree with TB. As mentioned, after reading all the posts, I figure that any manufacturer is allowed a lemon every now and then. I ll tell you, the Benz of my boss is a bomb. I be taking in an MG2 which appears to be the ultimate when it works as mentioned by even the worst critic and I suspect ...
