Re: Draft Notes on Working with O-rings for Air Guns

Also, some difficult to locate seals (Walther pressure reg face seal comes to mind) can be located on assembly with a very small amount of super glue applied with a pin. Helps locate and retain during assembly and working life.
As an assembly I use a grease from "Festo "pneumatics.

Re: Draft Notes on Working with O-rings for Air Guns

I found that the static tank seals seem to last a couple of years longer in #90's before deformation and cracking than the #70.

Re: Draft Notes on Working with O-rings for Air Guns

Just a note on hardness, I tend to use the softer #70's on working O rings and #90's on static O rings.

How about Tchaikovsky - 1812 Overture with live Cannons, will add both sound, smoke and smell of gunpowder.

Sounds like the lens in your glasses are wrong.
Read Dr Wong article and take it to your Optometrist.

Re: Morini 162EI won’t fire or dry fire

Sounds like the micro switch is set too fine. Check that the switch plate is tight to frame. Have you checked the micro switch screw adjustment (0.8mm) on top of switch plate. Make sure that you have about 80g weight on second stage, enough to re-set the trigger. Back off switch screw 1 turn, then s...

Re: Pistol maximum dimensions: rules exploit?

Most would agree that the pistol should be in it's ready to fire state, as
it would be on the firing line.
A pump gun will not fit in a open state, also it will not fire in that open state.
Any added weight bars would have to fit the box.

One of the scary things in India is the availibility of 300 bar bottles for refilling.
Too easy to overfill....

Re: Morini 162 MI fires when closing lever

162 MI is a mechanical trigger, sounds like yours has the sear set too fine
and dropping off with movement or vibration.
Trigger needs to be re-set by someone who knows what they are doing.
Sear engagement needs to be increased and trigger weight checked (1st & 2nd stage).

The "X" ring (Inner Ten ring) or 11 ring as you call it was introduced as a target change in 1989. Currently on paper and EST target it used as a tie break if you do not have a final. "quote rule 6.15.1 Individual Ties in 10m, 25m, 50m and 300m Events All tied scores will be broken fo...

Don't jump the gun, these pistol have been safely in use since 1992 with no problem.
Wait for the engineering report or recall before you condem them.
Just take care for now.

Re: Shaking things up, escaping ruts, quantity training — how to stay motivated?

Airpistol was and still is my basic training gun, great to go quietly on the range and shoot. It could be blank target work, working on a particular component of shooting or putting it all together with a trial match. If is also great when its cold, wet or windy outside. But it can be boring...........

Re: Over filling cylinder

The only time overfilling is a problem is if you are filling a 200 bar tank from a 300 bar cylinder. This cannot be done with the standard fittings because the 200 bar adaptor will not fit a 300 bar cylinder, it leaks because it it shorter. You cannot overfill a 200 bar tank from a 200 bar cylinder....

So if I may interpret what you are saying somewhat freely here, you mean that shooting "something else"—in your case blackpowder—is good complimentary training? Feel free to elaborate. It is all anecdotes here, so please share yours! Here is a good example, I have a follow through trainin...

Re: Over filling cylinder

I don't know that it was overfilled. Look at the photo with the end caps in his hand, the gauge shows just under 200 bar. That assumes that the gauge was damaged and jammed when it blew. Also the tube failure seems to be very straight along the cylinder length and very nearly at 180 deg apart. Appea...
