I am not very computer savvy so I don't understand the whole 64 bit 32 bit thing but I do use the Scatt on my netbook and it works great. I have a little acer that I got for about $200. I use an older Scatt though that connects with a serial port. I had to buy a serial port to USB connector which ca...

Importance of Hand Grip?

I have always been told that when griping the pistol grip on my rifle that it should be firm but not like guerrilla tight. I also realize that as long as you do it the same way every time that you should get the same results in theory. What I am wondering, though is what are the finer points of an i...

The main difference that I know of is that Pistol King is rated at 958 ft/sec and Center X is supposed to be 1073 ft/sec. I primarily shoot Eley so I don't have personal experience with possible group sizes from this ammo. A guy that I shoot with, however, is sponsored by Laupa and he regularly shoo...

Thanks for all the great information. The break down of group sizes in relations to 10 values really helps a lot. So from this I can basically conclude that as long as my rifle is holding 7.2mm the rest is up to me.

Personally I never liked the one piece two step bases that you buy from Champion's choice etc. The tolerances are strange and instead of being like a staircase with two defined steps they kinda slope together. It is hard to describe easier to show. Also you will have to drill and tap your bloop tube...

Personally I believe that there isn't that big of an advantage to a stock with a straight forestock. What matters most when deciding what kind of stock to buy is what feels best to you. If the sloped forestock feels best to you in position that is the stock that you should use. Lots of prone shooter...

Gehmann Rear Sight

Does anyone have any experience with the "Compact" Rear Sight by Gehmann? In the Champion's Choice catalog it is product 590 with the following description... "Compact Rear Sight with Sighting disc, manufactured to typical Gehmann standards at a very affordable price, extremely short ...

I use the anschutz sling and have never liked attaching it with the metal clip thing. When I use the clip it positions the sling way too far down my arm for my personal liking.

If you do not plan on competing in the 10 meter air rifle event then you are better off spending the money on an electronic training system.

Oppositon to Shooting Sports

Hi Everyone, I am a competitive collegiate rifle shooter and have to give a speech on a controversial topic for one of my classes. I plan on talking about the shooting sports but need to know why it is exactly that people oppose shooting? I understand that some people believe it to be dangerous but ...

I use a M22 for smallbore because I have an extremely long sight radius and the M18 just seemed too small way out there. The M22 was easier to center up in my rear sight and also gave me a larger field of view in the front sight such that I could see wind flags more easily. I also use a M22 for air ...

I'm looking to purchase 2 more buttplates such that I don't have to keep changing the one I have around for every position. I believe that I am going to get a Mec Free Position Buttplate but wanted to know how it attaches to the rifle? Does it have a carrier system with it or not? I want to use it o...

hope this helps

I take my sights off every time because I don't have room in my gun case to leave them on. As long as you put them back on in the same spot you will be really close if not dead on.

Dry Firing?

So I'm wondering how everyone dry fires for practice. Do you just cock the bolt and pull the trigger, use a fired piece of brass, or use a snap cap? I'm particularly interested in snap caps, since I've never used them. Which ones are good and work in an Anschutz or should they be avoided at all cost...

Hi everyone, I've been shooting NRA prone for 2 years now, achieved my Master classification and I'm wondering what degree of accuracy can humanely be achieved. I take my sights off of my rifle and leave the iris on the sight. I actually bought a little pelican case that is roughly 8 inches long, 4 inches wide, and 2.5 inches deep to store my sights in. There is room enough for both my smallbore and air rifle sights. Its very convenient and it gives me peac...

I also shoot a 1907 and don't remember having that problem when I first purchased the rifle. I did recently have it rebarreled though and ran into the same problem. The bolt closed smoothly and fine without ammo but was a little harder with ammo. After shooting with it for a couple of weeks the prob...
