Re: What is the function of those Belleville washers?
The spring washers are part of the pressure regulator (part 29 - Pressure reducing valve LP-1). From basic hydraulics: a larger area piston at a lower pressure will balance a smaller area piston at a higher pressure - pneumatics operates on the same principle. The Bellville springs are used to tune ...

Re: What Pistol Is This?
All the pistol matches I've attended have been held on Tuesday evenings - it's been that way for at least the last 30 years (probably longer). That's just Bullseye, since no one shoots anything similar that I can discern. There is some talk of air pistol, but if that gets started, it will probably b...

Re: Hammerli 208 question
Re: cost of magazine for 208s. You can modify a S&W mod 41 magazine to function perfectly in a Hammerli 208s. In addition, you get 10 round capacity for slow fire. Here is one description for modification of S&W M41 magazines for use with the 208s (and I bet it works with the 208/215 as wel...

Re: What Pistol Is This?
What would be the market for Matchgun or Tesro in the USA? NRA Bullseye (precision pistol, etc) is not a vibrant shooting sport, but still holds the lead in the number of USA shooters. ISSF 25M (aside from the trouble of finding a 25 m (27.3 yd) range) is not popular and it is difficult to find anyon...

Re: Tinted glasses for pistol shooting
As a bit of trivia, fluorescent lights (CFL's, 4' tubes, etc.) all produce UV light. There is a fluorescent coating that converts the UV light to visible (hence the name). However, they all leak a bit and emit UV light. LED lights do not emit UV. With the limited lighting in most indoor ranges, I've...

Re: 25 metre RF and Benelli MP 90
This may already have been tried, but there is an adjustment for the rear sight 'aperture' elevation, as described on page 27 of the MP90s manual: http://www.benelli.it/sites/default/files/manuali/GB/pistols.pdf Apparently the sight aperture is an independent adjustment from the elevation adjustment...

The AS568 -904 part number meets those o-ring dimensions. McMaster Carr sells 100 of these Buna-N o-rings for $3.35: https://www.mcmaster.com/#9751k114/=1axwvhc. Dow Molykote 33 is a good o-ring lubricant, along with SuperLube grease.

Re: I hate it!
That's probably my RWS (Diana) R10. I can't say I hate it, but it's very aggravating. My last set of seals were installed under RWS warranty by Neil Johnson back in the early 1990's. Those seals have disintegrated. I have new seals, but they need to be installed. Then there is the break-in. Plus, it...

Re: Any experience with importing from Krale (Netherlands)
I would like to know the paypal account (email) address for Pilkguns, in this time of holiday season. Maybe it's obvious to most, but it's not clear to me.
Edit: It is likely inappropriate to display email addresses on an open forum. At least, I'm concerned about that.

Re: Any experience with importing from Krale (Netherlands)
Importing firearms (of any sort) is subject to ATF regulations and all the implied issues. These guys work with importing firearms into the US and would probably be a good place to ask such questions, along with the Bureau of ATF: http://www.johnsonfirearms.com/export_import/ I don't think any monet...

It sounds to me like Jack needs to find a group that shoots six shots with a LP50 and see if anyone can put together a six shot magazine for a gun designed to shoot a five shot magazine. No doubt some creative and inventive person(s) can make that happen, but I doubt that person will be found on thi...

Re: Lones Wigger's fight with cancer
I fondly recall the opportunities to have dinner with Col. Wigger at Ft. Benning when I was shooting smallbore. He was a gracious and generous host who made those moments memorable. Unfortunately, none of his prone shooting prowess rubbed off on me - but being a young doofus, I didn't ask for any po...

Re: Benelli MP95E Feeding Issues
Colder temperatures will make oil thicken. I've read from maintenance sources that the MP Benelli's like thin oil. Some TSI-301 may be a good alternative for some spots but not the magazine follower (not recommended for plastics). I would consider a light low temperature silicone grease, such as Dow...

Re: Recoil spring removal for older Hamerlli 208 (picture he
Thanks for this explanation. I purchased a used older 208 with a worn spring and crack in the frame. I could not figure out how to get the recoil spring out and it looked like the barrel needed to be moved in order to remove that spring. I also could not find an older manual, such as you have, which...

Re: Hammerli 208/215 prices worldwide
The S&W M41 has the same grip angle as the 1911, by design. The M41 can be also be fitted with Nills, Fung, or Rink grips. It seems more practical to shoot a .22 that emulates the 45, if the goal is to shoot a 45 in competition. But, I also understand the allure of the next gun that will propel ...

Re: Hammerli 208/215 prices worldwide
I recently saw a Hammerli 208S at a gun show for $1600.00. I suppose the price reflects what the market will bear. I was concerned the frame had a crack, since the pistol was obviously shot considerably and did not have spare recoil springs. Having held several and field stripped one, I think they a...

Re: Why we still shoot the 45?
I am constantly amazed at the variations made on the 1911 'Colt' 45 acp. Several companies make all the parts and a few make the compete pistol. Virtually every part can be customized and it seems there are many companies that specialize in just that. It''s also impressive that accurizing the 1911 i...

Re: Inconsistent groups
If this is indoors at ~50 feet, then the only critical factor I can think of is a worn or damaged crown on the barrel. That's fairly easy to check with a clean barrel and a magnifying glass. Good luck!
