Re: Russian parts
It would be nice if a similar fellow (or his evil twin) from Russia would sell Baikal IZH-35M spare parts. I would buy a couple and risk the wrath of the US government (charges of collusion?) over non-imported spare parts for a .22lr pistol. Perhaps my tolerance for risk is higher than most? I'm thi...

Re: Shots are Low and Left
Thanks for those articles, particularly the one on 'follow through'. As a rhetorical post, I tend to have little to no trouble keeping my rounds in the black when practicing. Similarly, during dry firing, it's difficult to create or emulate the behavior known as 'jerking'. However, even during the w...

Re: Shots are Low and Left
While I must admit, this is the first time I've seen the Caswell diagnostic target, the description of shifting focus from the front sight to the black resulting in high shots does make sense. I've seen this more shooting .45 slow fire and have been trying to figure out why that happens sporadically...

Re: Shots are Low and Left
Here is one of the common error diagnosis tools: http://aegisacademy.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Error-Chart1.jpg Unfortunately, I have a similar problem (jerking the trigger, tightening fingers). It's best to nip this sort of thing in the bud, so to speak. Dry firing can help (or at least Yur Ye...

Re: Compact Bullseye Locking Range Box
My interpretation of 3(a) is that the car must be locked if a pistol is left in the car unattended and the pistol must not be visible. From what I've read (and this may be mostly in Texas) some people allow firearms to get stolen because they don't lock their cars when whey have a firearm inside. Th...

Re: Compact Bullseye Locking Range Box
I like that bag; it looks discrete and comfortable. Adding a metal latch for installing a small padlock would not be difficult to your leather bag. That should make that bag in compliance with the law (but, I'm not a lawyer). I often carry my pistols in a old gym bag when going to a local range. The...

Those look like they would work well for plastic magazines, such as used in Nelson conversion and Xesse .22's.

Re: Benelli MP90/95 Cleaning Videos
In regard to thin oils suitable for firearms, the Mil-PRF-32033 oil is intended for low temperature firearm lubrication and corrosion protection. I found a quart at Skygeek (light aircraft maintenance products): http://www.skygeek.com/brayco-300.html It is an ISO 11 light oil. I've used it in a smal...

Thanks for the information on the chamber brush! I didn't know they sold a brass core bore brush with bronze bristles. I ordered some for my .22 and .45. The first I read about using a chamber brush was from maintenance tips on the internet from Larry Carter, then from Ed Hall. I think they were des...

Re: Trouble when attempting to charge Air Tanks for PCP.
The most expensive option, but one that gives autonomy, is to buy a compressor and air tank. This guy (Joe Brancato) out of California has a website: http://www.airtanksforsale.com and sells air tanks (duh) along with compressors. Bauer is a standard industrial model, which generally cost ~ $3500, b...

Re: Trouble when attempting to charge Air Tanks for PCP.
The next least expensive path is using a Hill pump with the 200 DIN adapter as sold by Pilkguns. The Hill pump is out of stock at Pilkguns, but not at Amazon and other retailers. The 200 DIN to Hill pump adapter is an important fitting. The 'trick' to using a Hill pump or any 'stirrup' pump as the B...

Here is a link from Crosman on where to fill a SCUBA or HPA tank (it's not complete and my list shows only HPA): https://www.crosman.com/discover/airguns/pcp-resources/find-a-fill-station A divers certificate is not required by law before a SCUBA tank can be filled, the tank condition including insp...

Re: Need help deciding on air tank for PCP.
I found an aluminum 80 cu ft 3000 psig (~200 Bar) used SCUBA tank was the best deal. A recent hydro on the tank (and these aluminum tanks don't have a lifetime before needing to be replaced), inspection, fill, with lifetime fills (whatever that means) cost ~$125.00. Steel tanks cost more along with ...

FWIW, here is an image of a new firing pin for a MP90S I received 12/2017 (from Larry's):

Re: Gripsize feinwerkbau aw93
I'm not sure where one can fondle an AW93. For the Walther GSP, these guys are available: http://www.carlwalther.com/gsp.htm in the states. What I notice about the AW93 is the dry fire feature and all steel construction (excluding the grips). The AW93 is a soviet (Russian) design. The Hammerli 208s/...

Re: Gripsize feinwerkbau aw93
Aftermarket Rink grips should resolve any issues with fitting the AW93 to your hand. They have instructions on how to measure for their sizes. I expect if the grip is unmodified, they will exchange for another size or refund the purchase - but I'm in the USA so it's measure thrice and order once. ht...

Re: The Regulator in PCP pistols.
The 'pressure regulator' or 'regulator' in PCP airguns is a pressure regulating valve. Another name for such a valve is a pressure reducing valve; yet another adds 'control' in front of those names (i.e. control pressure reducing valve). These generally contain no user serviceable parts and many are...

Re: Moving Front sight vertically downward
Sounds like you're up to speed on the available options. FWIW, the Caswell black oxide is easy to use (if the directions are followed), allows reapplication as a DIY type process, is superior to standard (oxpho-blue, etc) cold bluing and fairly economical: http://www.caswellplating.com/metal-finishi...

Re: Moving Front sight vertically downward
The most common recommendation is that the visual width of the front sight should roughly match the apparent width of the black, just as shown in Deadeyedick's picture. If your arms are atypically short or long, that's going to have a big effect on the effective width required. To maintain the maxi...

Re: Hammerli 208 International Rear Sight Blade Swap
Have you tried simply unscrewing (turning CW) the rear sight windage adjustment screw? On every rear sight I've disassembled in a similar configuration, all that pin does is serve to engage the detents - which prevents the screw from turning freely - and provide click adjustments. Care should be tak...
