Re: One Left-One Right-One Smallbore??

You can get 2 of these:

https://www.creedmoorsports.com/product/4800/716

Cheaper than 2 Annies or 2 FBs. It is a 1918 stock clone with a better barrel and action than both of them.

Re: One Left-One Right-One Smallbore??

I think you are better off just getting 2 rifles, if they want to compete you are going to have problems if they have to shoot at the same time. If you really have to have one rifle only then here is my unconventional suggestion. Get a Walter KK500 or Feinwerkbau 2800 barrel and actions which can be...

Re: Questions from a beginner

All those shooters compete in 3x20/40 in which case the high elbow position gives them better recoil control, and of course they use the same position in air. Tension can be OK IF there is an advantage to it and it is kept consistent. Having a stronger grip or a higher elbow position are common uses...

Re: Practicing with Mid-grade (as opposed to match-grade) Ammo?

At high level shooting at some point it can be hard to tell what can be attributed to tiny details of position or process and what is just ammunition inconsistency. This is why some higher level shooters will be using higher level ammunition in practice eg. Eley Match. But this is people who are con...

Shooting Equipment DE has some that are becoming more and more popular. Matt Emmons uses one.

Re: Personalising your Precise Stock

You could go to a car painter and get a custom paint job on the stock. Just remember to properly cover the bedding to ensure no paint gets on it.

Re: Setting up an air sports club, what would people like to

Depends what your aims are and who you are expecting to have there,if you already have interest from serious shooters or you are starting from scratch with complete beginners. If it is just fun plinking then electronics don't make sense. But if you expect serious training then electronics is the sta...

Re: Advice on Smallbore rifle

The new Turbo 3P rifles are pretty hard to pass up if you are in the US. That kind of accuracy plus all the stock adjustments necessary at that price is crazy good.

Re: Beginner smallbore

Thank you so much. I forgot to mention but I am a 3p female shooter and I'm not used to heavy rifles. I'll check out the ones you mentioned and I'll probably test some in person to see how they feel. Thanks again! Female shooters often order those same rifles but with a shorter and sometimes thinne...

I wonder if the offset centre was a manufacturing defect. If it is normal it is pretty much a deal-breaker for SB shooters.

Re:

The mantra I have always taught is "Up and Right are Counterclockwise". As a training aid, get a large bolt and nut. Grasp the nut such that the bolt is either vertical or horizontal with the head of the bolt up or to the right. Turn the bolt clockwise and one will see it will move down o...

Re: Statement From Abhinav Bindra

If they really have to cut down the number of athletes and hence have to cut some events while encouraging participation in the sport, I think, as much as it sucks, it makes more sense to cut the 3P events. If you weight the quota places by number of participants around the world it makes no sense t...

Surfing, skateboarding, climbing, BMX, mountain biking. Did Redbull purchase the Olympics while we weren't looking?

Re: Free Rifle prone event remove from the Tokio 2020 OG

If they remove it from the world cups as well this will be the death of smallbore rifle. People don't just go straight into 3P or can afford to, they start with Air and prone and that sometimes seeds into 3P. No prone means no 3P.

Re: KK500 - its advantages incl. different versions?

One thing I noticed in the recent world Cup final was that in the 3p final Milenko was using a KK500 but for standing he seems to have machined a different butt with a lower butt plate ratchet. I suspect that because Milenko is very tall, the very high butt plate ratchet on the KK500 alu stock is to...

Let's say one, having a perfect vision, uses -5 diopter contact lens and +5 diopter lens in a rear sight. 500 years old idea :-) Couldn't you do the exact same thing with shooting glasses + contact lens? I can't wait for the new rule to be I place, I can't stand having to deal with the damn fiddly ...

Re: New ISSF Rules - Partial Summary

I think the problem with the currently available variable dioptre irises is that they magnify to varying degrees. Wasn't there some rumor of an adjustable dioptre that WASN'T magnifying undergoing ISSF approval - or was I dreaming? K. Gehmann has just released a lenseless astigmatism diopter if tha...
