What I would suggest is that you and your dad take a trip to the Sydney International Shooting Centre every now and then, which is really not far from you. I think Legion shoots there on Saturdays and some of the top shooters in Australia shoot there. All of them are super friendly and can help you ...

Hi Brenton, How old are you and where in Aus are you? Maybe you can ask your dad to take you down to one of the local ISSF shooting style clubs in your area. There you should be able to find someone who can look at your position a bit more and talk to you about equipment more. There are a lot of dif...

Talking of adding weights, what is the exact purpose of adding weight at the back of the rifle?? Most of my shooting mates say I should add weight at the front, but I seldom hear a word about adding weight at the rear. Mind you, while dismantling my rifle for maintenance I discovered that the previ...

I use one. Wouldn't like to imagine how heavy a riser block would be if it was big enough to go down as far as my palm rest :/

Over here we use two wooden blocks, 1 side flat and the other side rounded and just plant our feet on those.

The scores for Beijing were updating live shot by shot, was that plugged straight into their targeting system (the stats themselves not the display)? If so I don't see why this can't be set up to be used for inter-club/city/state/national competitions.

Russell Mark has been very vocal about the dodgy things that went on over there. Says that officials were calling hits for a Chinese shooter when he missed on two different occasions. Also says that they had sent over ammo from Italy so that they wouldn't have to shoot with the crap stuff that they ...

As I see it, quality wise all of the air rifles are about the same, the choice is merely which feels best to you and what kind of deal you can get. I think the main things that I contemplate when buying an air rifle are: - cost - balance: some like their rifle to be more front heavy than others - fi...

Yeah, I have been thinking about which air rifle to get once I gather up the money. I am quite tall and have long arms, so I find the FWB to be a good fit for me, but I find it to be too front heavy for me in general. I really like the look of the Walthers and everyone says they are great, but they ...

The Anschutz 9003 S2 uses the Steyr dampener does it?

How does the Walther LG300XT compare to them vibration/recoil-wise?

I think the US team did pretty good. Emmons' 2nd and 4th, Beyerle came very close to a medal in the 3P and got into the final in the air rifle. Anti was also very close to the final of the prone. You gotta remember that the difference between possibly getting a medal and even getting into a final ca...

They weren't celebrating Matt's misfortune, they were celebrating because they got a medal that they thought they weren't going to get. I didn't really see any bad sportsmanship from them, a couple of them even went up to Matt and shook his hand and consoled him. They all had very respectful words a...

The Bleiker stock width is really up to what you are more comfortable with. Those with bigger hands are more likely to like the wider front that the narrower. Maybe have a think about what stocks you have felt more comfortable with in the past and find out how large they were? The Anschutz 1913 and ...
