MEC would sell the wooden ruler as "vintage distance-meter" for a much higher price... ;) (although I'm pretty sure that MEC resp. the shooters coached by Heinz Reinkemeier and Gaby Bühlmann were the first to use this trick even in competitions - I've seen and heard a lot of giggling and l...

The LP400 Club is a "special release" only for the german market and there only for the so called "Target Shop dealers". These offers run only for a quarter of a year, then the next offer follows (of course some Target Shop dealers will have one or the other guns possibly longer)...

I don't know, how match(!) CO2-pistols (= with large tank) are sold in the USA or outside germany. If Feinwerkbau, Walther, Hämmerli, Morini, Pardini etc: all of these co2 pistols have been tested by VISIER, the german gun magazine, between 1987 and 1996, and I was the reviewing editor. And the CO2 ...

I was now confused myself a little bit and called Thomas Bretschneider, head of the design team in Ulm: Screw e defines the position (in a small area of course) in which the trigger blade stands when the shot breaks. Difficult to explain, but it's somehow like altering the first stage travel "f...

On the subject of LP400 - what is the difference between adjusting trigger screws d and e. They both appear to accomplish the same thing ie first stage travel. No, d = first stage travel (long/short), e = let off point (sharp/soft) "Use the setscrew (d) to adjust the distance between the rest ...

Hm, the quoted 950 Dollars are equivalent to todays 699 Euro, this is exactly the suggested retail price in germany. Without the costs for the transfer to USA of course, and any currency-related differences. Different to most other match guns in the Walther/Hämmerli-portfolio for the AP20 there is o...

Haha. I remember that it was a quite good joke I didn't know before. He was telling it to me at the World Cup in Milano in 2004, one of his last international matches. I was watching him shoot, he turned, saw me, made a pause, left his pistol at his place (!) and walked over to me waiting at the han...

Obviously wrong behaviour, okay. Could also have been a repair and announced to the RO.

But if that event 23 years ago justifies to claim "often with his pistol still in his hand!"?

Sounds a bit envy to me, sorry.

Never saw that myself (and I have been "live" at a lot of his competitions) - and I can't imagine, that range officers at an international match would have accepted that, even with the "old" rules.

No, we dschermans are truly internaschenal... Many english words, names, phrases etc have been implemented into the german language. In fact some years ago (also in 1968 til the 1980's, as I remember) it really was Mexiko-Stadt (and never "Ciudad de Mexico), like we still say New York City or W...

That's okay, Tycho, I appreciate this. So I simply disregard your remark about mistakes in that book. To claim "Many things are missing, and some details clearly false" without being able to name them - you must be veerry disappointed about Walther.

The last thing is true, Ciro isn't so easy to find. But I personally believe, that Nill, Rink, Ciro, Morini, The real Morini (Cesare M at Match Guns) don't make much difference. Normally Thomas Rink has just a vending machine in his office, where incoming orders are simply transferred into beautiful grips - like you all know it from a coke vending machine. Unfortunately that machine broke down some weeks ago, and he had to go back to the ancient method of making taylor-cust...
