I have a question about this subject
I am a total newbie, NRA 1600 prone shooter (I shot my first match this Saturday). Someone remarked that their heart beat caused a vertical movement on the target. I am seeing a horizontal displacement. I assumed it was heart beat related. Breathing causes a vertical movement for me. So what things ...

Recently I had the chance to shoot a few rounds through some high end Euro guns. I don't remember all the models but the AW93 was one. The other was a Morini with an electronic trigger. I found it very hard to get a natural point of aim with the extreme grip rake these pistols have. The more upright...

Need advise on detachable scope rings
I am looking for some advice on quick detachable scope rings for a weaver base. The scope is a standard 1" tube. I need to be able to remove the scope, shoot iron sights, and put the scope back on without a lot of sighters. Nothing seems to work as well as the old lyman/unertil scope block stuf...

Tell me about grip rake?
First I should mention that I intend to shoot NRA bullseye. I am looking to purchase my first .22LR target pistol. When I hold a gun, the more upright grip angle of a 1911 (45 ACP) feels "right" to me. Plus I will have to shoot the 1911 so I am thinking it only makes sense to get a .22 wit...

Better than we might have hoped for?
True, not the resounding victory we would like but it could have been worse. Hard to say what might happen with a new president. Maybe this will send a message his way? I am sure many of you read the same NRA letter that I did where Barack stated that those in small towns hold onto "guns and re...

Depends
You have a lot of choices that could work. More info is required. Is noise a factor? Are there restrictions on power levels where you live? How important is a quick follow up shot? What would be the longest distance that you would like to be able to kill a rabbit at? Do you want something as cheap a...

What I'd like to see different in USA
Interesting discussion everyone. I'd like to hear from the english side what they would like to see change in their current laws. I will give my thoughts form the US side. I would like to see a greater level of gun education and perhaps a test to prove a level of ability. I don't think I am alone wh...

What would be wrong with this approach?
Okay, a mark2 or buckmark might do to start with but most agree it will have to replaced at some point. Short of getting lucky on a high standard it seems like one would have to spend almost a grand (minimum) for a .22 LR pistol for the long haul. Now for about the same money I could get a Mil-spec ...

On the Eley sport
I wouldn't bother. My friend and I have been trying out some different brands trying to find one mid-priced ammo all our guns like. The Eley sport was quickly ruled out. It was worse than CCI standard velocity. The Lapua "super club" was a surprise for us. Performance was nice enough to wa...

Tom I think you are on to something
Now this is where my ignorance of target shooting and the equipment comes in. With a hunting rifle I never questioned if the gun fit me. I just made do with what I had and if I couldn't hit what I aimed at I blamed myself. Truth be told I have never been able to look through the optical center of my...

I shot
about a half a box of the eley black box EPS. My friend shot one box. We both thought it was very good. Of course for the price it should be.
Word has it that the EPS bullet bucks the wind better.

Pat,
I forget the actual size (0.110"???) but it was picked to give a diameter about twice the bullseye (A23 target) which is what I was always taught. The plastic one might have been a little smaller if anything. It was a clear one but was very opaque from old age. On those, the beveled side goes t...

Is it my eyes or me?
Hi all, I need a little help determining if I have a problem or not (and what to do about it). I have a Remington 40X with Palma rear sight and International front sight. I can shoot just fine using a front post (pillar). I had a friend shoot my gun. He used to shoot competitively when he was a teen...
