More like a 3 bears (not 3 beers) approach, not too much, not to little, but "just right". Grip pressure always impacts fine motor skills but higher grip pressure also offsets wild shots from poor trigger control. Trick is getting it just right and just right varies for us all, every day. ...

What are your 32 S&W HBWC loads for Int'l CF and 50 yard

John, You can back out the expander plug so it doesnt hit the taper part of the case but the bullet may be too long and have its base crushed by the taper. I use star lines for round nose and SWC bullets but found the HBWC too long for my auto, it ok in the revolver. A cast may be shorter but you ha...

What are your 32 S&W HBWC loads for Int'l CF and 50 yard

Big secret seems to be the expander plug; big enough (0.315) and deep enough. I found one under my lathe too ! David Ms BE load velocities are correct. I am using RP brass and a Dillon 550. You have to watch for taped wall brass like starline as they will crush the wadcutter base. If the expander pl...

The standard 1.4 BE / 1.9 231 are pretty anemic

What else are people loading that gets over 700 FPS?

I have some of Doc Youngs reloads but I cant get those components.

Would slower powders be better? Big flake types wont meter well in small charges

thanks

EU countries have the PED Pressure Equipment Directive that includes small cylinders at low pressure. It adds a lot of product cost and regulation oversight. The safety problem will come from aluminum cylinders that have been filled from hand pumps. This is due to the presence of moisture that doesn...

shootability

Accuracy may be the same for many types but shootability is another issue! I like the PM for 50 yds over more accurate but slower ammo. Think about it; barrel time is not your friend due to trigger induced motions Yes if all were perfect, it wouldnt matter but I never got there and all else the same...

My issue with the new 2 stage trigger is it is riveted together and can't be cleaned up. The holes for the stage plungers are rough giving the trigger a scritchy release The stage 2 can also be pretty stiff but I reduced it and the stage 1 as well (on a 1360 unit) It is servicable now but I am not e...

walther trigger

I dont care for the 2 stage trigger they make; riveted together hence un fixable. Parts inside trigger are rough and scritchy. Have been working with it but havent found the love yet. Anyone have a 1000g single stage for sale? Sliding sears beat springs any day in my book The Hammerli 208? well, not...

Need to look more at the perceived spacing of white borders than sight width alone. Long arms show narrower sights than short. Too narrow a rear slot strains your eyes. Play with it and see what you like; make big changes in practice. No risk. I think I have white side bars at 1/2 of perceived front...

Getting AP cylinders to Ft Benning?

How are people doing it if they don't drive ? So far the best answer seems to be mail to to oneself c/o "general delivery" at either Columbus or Phenix City post offices. It is good for 30 days but I forgot to ask my post lady if they return to sender on pick up failure. What other options...

I think Misny and others have it right. We are or should be ambassadors of our sport. The anti's will not change their minds. The people who can be influenced are in the middle, they have no opinion either way. They dont know anything of us. A good impression goes a long way. Thats why I have partic...

I have had nothing but good results with Scott, Warren, when he was there, and Wanda. This is from first hand work with them and the mutual trust developed. I would call for things and they were shipped, the bill was settled later. Absolutely top notch. Scott also rebuilt my LP1 while I was at the N...

I have had a couple people find chamber problems in the last ten tears of market use. Did your sons RR ever have a reloading "adventure" (that he is aware of)? His shells will work harder in the resizing/firing cycle and have more stress. Do they feel different in the sizer die compared to...

I started wearing the MSA Advantage 200LS with P100 cartridges this fall. I really appreciate not tasting or breathing the dust and notice the difference in just a 30 shot league. I am one of the best shooters in the region with a 290 ish average and that sets a good example for others who may feel ...

Well this is interesting. I do maintain tight tolerances on the gauges and reject many as well. It is possible that your chamber falls on the larger side and the gauge on minimum side with nothing really wrong with either item. Some questions: What is your load and bullet? What loading dies (a $ say...
