Shoulders
Air pistol shooting became painful with the right arm, moved to the left, in two months was back to usual scores (540+) and in three had to drop it. Two Magnetic resonances later and the doctor said right shoulder is worn, nothing really wrong with it. Left side has a partial rupture of tendon (forg...

why some and others not?
someone mentioned logistics, and this is a major concern. If they didn't change it without telling me, a 10,000 athletes is top. To remain in the game, the Olympics finals were created. Shooting is lousy for TV. No rhythm, slow and you never know who is head without a screen. Besides the fact that i...

can't believe...
what I'm seeing: two people, supposedly shooters, degrading the accomplishment of a fellow shooter. Is it because it's a lady? Any of you ever did get close to the Olympic indexes to participate in a national selection, and I mean closer than the internet? I dropped out of shooting in my state 'caus...

I quit shooting last year, shoulder problems (both sides), but I think that the FWB was acceptable for the 40 shots they were used for. In 60 shots the weight takes its toll. I know, I tried when decided to come back to shooting 4 yrs ago. A well kept PCP is expensive, but if the price is within the...

shooting eyes and old age
I'm 61, have no cataracts and use only minor correction for reading. BUT shooting is out for me. Both shoulders are shot, if I might say so, so I moved to open sighted rifles, .22 and air. The problem is, my eyes' muscles lost their flexibility with age, so I cannot focus on the sighting post AND st...

Richard, the ISSF itself realizes that the printed edition is cumbersome and, I've been told, here in Brazil, that they are thinking of splitting it. That they provide the rules for free in this format is not actually correct: every shooter pays to the club, the club to the federation and this to th...

Just took a look, the same mistake of the first and second printings: is a monster with everything you don't need: The constitution of ISSF and shotgun mixed with rifles and pistols, plus match organization instructions and a few more items. Lets be realistic: if you shoot shotguns you don't need th...

And how long do you think they will stand uncorrected this time??? Thanks God I'm out of the translating system of the Brazilian NGO (composed by Mr. Jacques, Mr. B and Mr. Gros, the three of them working pro bono). The Brazilian Championship and the online matches (one is impossible without the ot...

Now, try and see for how long can you shoot just for the heck of it... Right up until I give myself a chronic injury (well, another chronic injury) because of kit which doesn't give medically necessary support... Get a lighter rifle No peice of kit (inanimate object) gives you an injury, it's how y...

Thanks God I moved to radio controled gliders...Also full of rules, but is nice just to float around, without competitions. Now, try and see for how long can you shoot just for the heck of it... First you try shooting beer cans, hit all of 'em. then you start shooting INTO the, by the opening. Then ...

Hey David, The first part was a joke! Maybe you're hung over after the wedding...(Two things called attention on that: the younger sister swaying behind the bride and the dame d'honeur closing her ears to the noise!). But about the size of the complete set of rules, it seems that ISSF is realy going...

Real reason for all these erratas is that ISSF is moving away from the printed regs, will start pushing licenced iPads (the judges will be allowed to use only these) at a nice overprice... In fact I tried to use my Kindle, but it only accepts pdf's and the search feature is too slow. Another problem...

9 firing points outfitted with Rika/Noptel/Scatt (8+hospital bay) is between €10,000 and €20,000 (say $15,000-$30,000). That's less than the cost of the electronic targets for those lanes. But more to the point, it's a miniscule fraction of the cost of replacing all the existing kit out there if yo...

[quote= However, if you strap a noptel/rika/scatt to the barrel (and with the new wireless models, that's even easier) and put the trace up on the screen as well as the electronic target display that we see up there now, you show the audience what was really going on. That, some novel camera angles,...
