yes
That Federal 'target' champion is the stuff mentioned by myself and another poster. Look on the box to see the #714. For my gun it shoots great. Very rare to have a bad primer/miss fire. It is FAR more accurate than I am- my best groups are about 2" at the short line (25 yds) and 5-6" are ...

Citation
I have a Hamden Citation with the 7.25" fluted barrel. A fine well made pistol. Beautiful bluing, fantastic trigger, and will put the bullets precisely where aimed when fired every time. The mag which came with the gun is faultless. I and every other owner of a HS wish they had 3 additional mag...

New shooter but can add what I have found for mine
First off most will tell you to stick with standard velocity ammo to protect the frame from unnecessary battering. I have shot Federal 'Champion' target #714, Wolf target, aquila standard velocity, and CCI standard velocity in mine. They all shoot fine and I have no problems. If it were me I would j...

Thanks
Yes- training for hold is what I had i mind though I did consider how the it might effect shooting as well. I am mostly interested in how the fine motor control might improve from this practice as I believe my worse holds have too much variation in speed over the target- my hold can be jerky if I st...

Controlled vs chaotic hold?
Anyone trying imposing order on the wobble of the hold- that is defining the movement to defined patterns such as lines, crosses, spirals? I have been working on hold and have found that I can 'repair' a poor hold by raising above the bull and settling in a line down to the center. I tried from this...

Targets
Good morning, I am also just starting out and shooting a Izzy. This is the software I use: http://home.hiwaay.net/~ispellan/Airguns.html It has targets loaded for many disciplines including 10 ap and reduced range targets etc. Pick the number of bulls to print per page and you may set up a matrix as...

Thank you all very much.
Steve- I appreciate it. You have in a earlier post really put it quite well: "you have 7-10 things to work on right now" I like most read everything I could and as I progress I find simply 'knowing' the elements of a good shot and applying the elements to my shot plan are two different thi...

My experience
I am just starting and this is how it is going for me. I shoot in the local league twice a week- we shoot two 900's each session. I also shoot a 3 hour training session each week coached by the top shooters at the club. Cost- Gun- $700.00 I picked up a beautiful High Standard Citation .22- NIB 40 ye...

Thanks
Understood about concentrating on target as being less than Ideal. Still find it interesting that I group best when I have the smallest target. I do maintain rigid attention to the front sight I group best of all when I shoot to pellet holes or small dots. Somehow I am at this stage in the game gett...

Working though frustration
I posted the above after a particularly frustrating session. What has happened I now realize is I had traded errors- sending shots into high right for my favorite of old which was low left. It was really frustrating as the high right stuff could really go out there and it flies in the face of my hol...

Fighting though first couple of thousand pellets..
How is it that I am getting worse groups as I go along? Bit of frustration here. First time few times I picked up the pistol (using a Izh46m), I was dropping pellets in the 9 ring with nice groups. Now in my 2nd thousand pellets the groups are lousy. 2" and all over the place... I am looking at...
