I basically said it looks fun but: 1. Cost will be way high 2. Range set up will be difficult. Most airgun ranges don't have the means 3. Interest will be too low. Hardly anybody shoots air pistol in Missouri already, and the price tag will drive shooters away. 4. Focus on popularizing existing disc...

It might work but it works on an internal revolver design. In order to use the gun in a single action mode, you have to cock the hammer, otherwise it has a heavy DAO trigger.... The sights might not be very good either.

I just shot (and won) the JO Olympic qual in Owensville (south-central), but other than that there is very few matches. Check out Pioneer Gun Club and if your willing to drive a long way, Highland Rifle and Pistol (Highland, Ill) has some matches.

Ideas for Practice in less than ideal conditions......

I've been shooting air pistol on and off for about 8 months now and am pretty happy about my progression as a shooter but there is one problem.... My house is too small! The longest range available is about 7 meters, so I have been shooting at 50 ft smallbore targets as a makeshift reduced target. I...

Missouri Air Pistol?

I'm trying to figure out how to get to the JO's Air Pistol event from Missouri..... I know the qualifier for small bore and international air is in Kansas City, Mo (because I'll be shooting there) but there is no AP qualifier as far as I know. Can you qualify in another state and proceed? Anybody kn...

I don't know if anybody has mentioned this but I believe that there are laws in effect in California (most ridiculous US state as far as guns go) that ban Olympic style semi-auto pistols. Please correct me if I'm wrong . The good thing is there are a lot more pro-gun kids than people think there, ar...

Quick question on targets....

What is the diameter of the 7 ring on a B-17 (free pistol 50m) target? I want to see if I can hit the paper before I buy any targets!

thanks,

It's all in my head......

First off I want to say I've been shooting 3-p air rifle for a year now on a high school team. I'm happy I've progressed to the point I'm at now as a sophomore. The problem is my scores recently have been a little funky. I shot in the 570's for several weeks in both practice matches and in real matc...

Targets

What is the B-33 target used for. I have a few and it just says 50 foot Pistol Target and for Centerfire or Standard courses. It looks pretty big for 50 feet when compared to a standard 50 foot slowfire target.

Thanks,

Revolvers for Bull'seye

Can wheelguns be competitive? As I look at .45's, the price of a wadgun is certainly out of the question. I know taurus and S&W both make .45 acp's, and both are very accurate, but are the practical? It seems that a nice revolver in .45 is a much cheaper way to shoot decent groups. I think that ...

Getting Started

Is there a website or a book somewhere that goes over the basics of Bullseye shooting (not form, but procedure, necessary gear, and etiquette). Besides a gun and Ammo, what do you need? Spotting Scope? Shooting Box? Gun Rug? I'd just like to get a good idea of what's needed and the rules of the game...

AP in the midwest?

I live in St. Louis and looking for a place to compete in Air pistol. I've yet to find much info, but have contacted Pilkguns, NRA (no response), and USAS. Can somebody point me to some matches? I'm willing to travel. Any youth matches are also appreciated as I'm 16.

Thanks,
HB
