Zero Point
How accurate should one's "zero point" be? Most textbooks and coaches say that when you prepare the shot, the rifle should be pointed towards the target in such a way that when you drop your eye to aim the bull is already inside the insert ring. However this is a feat that I guess only a f...

Yep, exactly those ones except that mine haven't arrived yet. When I made my test I first tried a standard Anschütz sight line elevator (borrowed from a friend) and then stacked a second one on top. First one made my head bend forward a little less, second one gave me a more natural position. And yo...

tsokasn, from my own little personal experience I can say that what happened to you is perfectly normal... When I started I spent almost 3-4 months training without any shooting clothes whatsoever. When my jacket + pants finally arrived I discovered that I had to change my posture completely. Cheers...

In my case I've got a large head so I'm forced to tip it forward quite a bit to get at the sight line. Didn't mind it until the day I tried a sight line elevator, I noticed that my neck felt much better, now I've got a Anschütz XXL elevator on order. Something else I noticed is that to get a good he...

Air Arms MPR
Hi all, I've visited the Air Arms page several times and have seen the MPR (Multi-Purpose Rifle) in both the Sporter and Precision versions, however trawling through the 'net I've seen scant mention about them... could anyone point me to reviews or could comment about it here, I'm very curious about...

Thanks again Peep. I believe (haven't seen it yet) that with only one weight I'm down to the 5Kg mark. Other than dropping this one remaining weight there is no other way of slimming her down further, she's equipped with steel cylinders which weigh 0.5Kg empty and which act as an extra barrel weight...

To weight or not to weight (sic)?
Hi all, after a bit of wheeling and dealing I traded my ancient Hämmerli LG450 rifle for a almost-like-new wooden stocked Anschütz 2002, did that because the 2002 was available on very favorable terms and also because I outgrew the LG450 over the past 6 months. The 2002 came with 5 barrel weights in...

London 2012 shooting venues
Hi all, where will the shooting events in the 2012 Olympics be held? Also could anyone confirm (or shoot down...) a rumor I've heard that 3P and prone shooters coming from outside the UK will have to hand in their weapons to the powers-that-be on arrival at the airport and that these will only be av...

Thanks CC. I trained yesterday and today and put a little more attention on my posture. I didn't feel anything in my legs whatsoever. I guess I must have been opening them a little too much and the pant leg must have been impairing blood circulation. The feet are back to shoulder-width opening (as p...

Thanks again Peep. I know the sensation of feeling one's weight shifting forward, it can be pretty annoying - especially when you are reaching the end of the shot process, with sights all nicely lined up and trigger pressure nearing shot breaking point. Then all of a sudden, woooooopssss, that loss ...

Thanks for the help Peep. My coach (who isn't a coach as such, but rather another shooter who coaches his wife and has been helping me) uses the MEC book as the basis for his training. AFAICR the book says that one's weight should rest over the whole foot and that it should be distributed 70% on the...

Hi all,
I have a question concerning shooting scholarships... I understand several universities in the US offer them for graduation, but are there any scholarships of this kind available for postgraduate studies?
Cheers,
Nicholas

Champion's Choice shooting glove
Hi all, I'm thinking of purchasing a shooting glove, I've been looking at the ones made by Champion's Choice, at US$ 25,00 they seem to be very good value but I would like to know if they are worth purchasing or if I should plunk for the products of Gehmann, Anschütz or Sauer. The glove I'm interest...

tsokasn, I had more or less the same problem as you, except that it was in the lower back. I've been shooting without any shooting clothes whatsoever (except for matches, when I borrowed a rather tatty jacket from the club) for the last 5 months or so, my jacket + trousers arrived only 3 weeks ago. ...
