AP40 repair

A sad story! At the end of 2019 the AP40 of my wife, lost compression. The cylinder was OK, we tested it on another gun. So we took the gun back to Frauenberg armory in Luxembourg. Frauenberg is/was a Hämmerli representative where we bought the gun, many years ago. He warned us that the gun had to r...

Re: Problem solved?

. If only Pardini would make mags you could fit CCI std ammo in. If only CCI would make their ammo the same length as everyone else. Indeed the length of the CCI ammo differs quite a lot. I used CCI in my Tesro. The first brick without a prolem. But I had this ammo laying around for a while. But th...

Shooting on TV

Maybe this is a stupid question, but if I don't ask it, I'll stay stupid. Though this will be more interesting for European members comments from all members are welcome. So I'll give it a try. It is extremely rare that we have Olympic shooting on TV. In Europe we have Eurosport with 2 channels on c...

Re: Shooting removed from 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

Somehow this decision doesn't surprise me. There was a lot of discussion in Belgium about the World Jamboree. Imagine the Scouts were allowed to shoot firearms at the Jamboree in West Virginia. It didn't matter that there was a personal trainer with each shooter. No, just the fact that the scouts ha...

Re: A valuable service

Now the count is fifteen with no answer. I seem to remember that the issue about out dated air-cylinders was discussed earlier. Over aged cylinders can be tested again as is done with scuba cylinders. However the cost of testing would be higher than the price a new cylinder... The decrease from 20 ...

Re: I'm sorry your new air pistol is a piece of crap

It has been said before: you can't 'buy' points or a good shot. Shooters that are better than their gun still have to be born. If you have a competition grade weapon all you have to do is train, shoot, develop your skills. If you want to support the gun industry change guns as much as you can. It wi...

Re: Rimfire dryfireing and snap caps

Depending on the type of your gun is may be possible to insert a .22 shell to keep the slide open. The hammer will then hit the slide very lightly. No risk of damaging the firing fin nor slide. Works perfectly with Hammerli (except 208), Walther GSP or FAS.
Good shooting

Re: Hammerli Single support

Just an after thought. Did you have a look at TESRO PA10? These are very reliable and accurate. It's a surprize the're not often seen on international matches. Behaps because Tesro is not at the range for support on these competitions. But they offer execellent quality for a very resonable prize. (h...

Re: Hammerli Single support

I´m afraid that the time that Hammerli gave a personal response to their costumers is over. Umarex is not so costumer friendly. One of my shooting friends passed her LP400 to the Walther technicians that were present at the Belgian Open Air contest for check-up. The air cylinder was losing pressure....

Great arguments. Too bad that the 'general' public (in Europe) will never hear these.

Re: Well, isn't that special!

Unless I misread the article, I don't find the reason why, quite suddenly, the air-gun ownership became an issue? In Belgium, airguns are sold without any restriction to 18+. However, since the stricter gun-laws, there were more 'incidents' with children shooting with airguns to trains or cars. Most...

Re: Vostok .22 short ammo - any good?

I've used Vostok .22 short in FAS 601 and Hammerli 230, but only for training. The reaction of the Vostok ammo was very comparable to that of the R25, that I used for competition. The reason to use Vostok was the price: about 50% cheaper than R25. When you count about a brick per training... However...

Re: ISSF Pistol handicap

The system resembles a little like in golf where they use 'handicaps'. We have tried it in our club matches and it doesn't work. Even a 'bad' shooter can have a 'good' day. Though I must say that a bad shooter does not exist in my opinion. Instead, we created groups of shooters according to their ag...

Re: Great Veteran's Day

Rover knows my point of view. It is thanks to the US that we (in Belgium and the bigger part of Europe) kept independent. Other wise we may have been German (2 x in 30 years!) or Russian... Some may state that this was out of US interest!? I don't care and neither did my parents nor grand-parents wh...

New discipline on the Olympics?

I read recently that 'Pole Dancing' would become an Olympic discipline? It seems like this issue has been going on for a while already. However, I wonder how they are going to solve the 'gender' issue that was at the base for removing the Free Pistol event from the program? I'm quite sure that the '...

Re: How often has your range been tested?

Our indoor ranges are tested once every 10 years, mainly because they are used by the police. But the issue seems rather superficial. I'm convinced that 1 hour in stop-and-go traffic is more hazardous then 10 years an indoor range. My impression is that the 'air quality' in the indoor ranges is an o...
