Re: freETarget

Got a rough draft of a frame setup using wood blocks to hold the sensors in place. Initial tests had all of my shots high left in the 6 ring despite shooting all over the bullseye. Not sure why its sensing all of the shots in (almost) in the same hole.

Re: Anschutz, Walther, or Turbo, other?

Pardini introduced a nice rifle recently and FWB has a new model with a very nice short action which allows shooters with short arms to reach the loading ramp better. Both are excellent rifles worthy of consideration. Fwb: http://www.champchoice.com/store/Main.aspx?p=CategoryBody&c=FITAFE Pardin...

I will be documenting the steps I took to create the box and what additional supplies I used to get it all working. It may take a while though.

Re: freETarget

Just received my first set of supplies for the feETarget too. I have a 3d printer too and its definitely too small for the target holder. So I will build a prototype out of wood instead.

Re: Target Sequence

I taught our juniors to make as few, and as small, position changes as possible. After the sighter, top center, then left top and down the column, across the bottom, then up the right side. The horizontal changes are more difficult, but limited to three. Be sure not to "cheat" on the veri...

Re: Finding a Rifle Coach- SE Texas

Any advice on tracking down a coach? I’d like to find someone that I could take my kids to for some range time and coaching on their positions. Find a USA Shooting club near you: https://www.usashooting.org/7-events/locateaclub You can also try emailing the NRA Coaching center: coaching@nrahq.org

Re: Using Shooting Jacks and Trousers

I’m very ignorant on shooting suits. My daughter is progressing to the point where I am considering buying her one, but I’m not sure of the advantages. Testing ISSF rules, the trousers must be loose around the legs. How do these benefit the shooter? Also, how does the jacket help? Is the Champion’s...

Re: National Strategy for Junior Olympic Para shooting

I sent an email to Alex regarding this and he said they are accepting scores for non certified para juniors. From the email... Hello Bill, We do actually have a Para category that we will be using this year so you can go ahead and send his scores in and the entry fee if he would like to be eligible ...

I will add a vote for Capapie. Many of the top shooters are using them and they are less expensive than the Hitex. I was one of the first in the US to have a Capapie suit. Managed to get one off the shelf that fit me very well when they were first introduced at Camp Perry. Got mine through Benzovich...

Re: ISSF Boot Rules

If they are older shoes, they may have been worn in enough to give you legal flexibility. If you are not attending a big USA shooting event then I would not worry about the flexibility rules since there will be no testing equipment. The rules on dimension of the contour of the sole are supposed to b...

National Strategy for Junior Olympic Para shooting

I thought I'd start a discussion on how can we get a National Paralympic Junior Shooting program. As it is now, you have to get certified as a paralympic shooter and that is very difficult given the limited numbers of people that can certify an individual as a particular category of para shooter. Wh...

Re: Beginner questions about 10m airguns

I have a daisy 853 from the cmp and they are great guns for the money. But no where near the accuracy (or trigger) needed for serious competition especially in bench rest. I am a big fan of the LG400 Alutec. But it really comes down to fit and feel. With guns like the Walther LG400 (pick any flavor)...

Are you referring to the nation specific color scheme recommendations that was proposed about a year or two ago? If so, those proposed changes were universally panned.

Re: 2020/2021 JO HOST SITE APPLICATIONS AVAIL

I noticed that the match dates are Nov 20 2020 to March 28 2021. Deadline to turn in scores is April 14 2021.

This is a big expansion of dates I assume to cope with Covid.

But what will this mean for the National JO's? Will they be held at a later date than usual or not at all???

Re: Homemade turning target system.

Nice system. It would be interesting to know what the internals are made up of and how the electronics and connections are done. Also, the center board is likely to get shot up and compromise the target pretty quickly. I think you would need to design a target holder that would wrap around the edges...

Does it focus on a single bull or are you showing all bulls for a 10 bull or 20 bull target(s).
