finding a place to try an AP in the US
Steve; How about looking up colleges and universities that have airgun clubs? Did you check out the NRA pages for local state and regional competitions in St. Louis and in Il, Ky, Tn? NRA or USAS lists state maches in TN and streator, Il. http://muextension.missouri.edu has an article on youth shoot...

loc-tite on shroud screws
I still have the original screws, although they don't look too good. I use a small drop of non-permanent loc-tite on the shroud screws and do not have problems removing them when I need to. With quality screws and wrenches, which are kept sharp, you will not have a problem. I remember the nutty co. ...

electronic triggerz
Just use a proximity switch and forget touching anything ever again. No trigger, no adjustments. It wouldn't be difficult, but you'd have to learn where to place your finger until time to trip the switch.

compensator lube
The only compensated pistol I have is a 14 inch contender in 45-70 Gov't. The compensator isn't removable, and the thought of shooting it with out it doesn't appeal to me. But this part of the thread made me think about shotgun shooters and their screw choke tubes. Has anyone tried never-seize or ot...

ways of the rifle...etc
Hi;
If you have a VCR, try video taping a segment of your shooting session so that you can critique your own form or discuss the tape with a knowledgeable coach while you view yourself.

new gun and new shooter
I just started bullseye shooting, and i have a 46M. Aside from practice, practice, practice I have started cutting the grips to fit my hand. This seems to help me hold better without having to resort to a "gorilla grip". I was squeezing the gun so hard that the tendons on the top of my han...

shooting box
Hello; I am thinking of building a shooting box also. Here are my thoughts. 1. Even locking castors invite movement. I will mostly shoot NRA bullseye and have a spotting scope mounted to the inside of the cover when it is folded up and open. Castors wouldn't be the be idea for me, I think. 2. I beli...

New England shooting
Hi;
I used to live in Wallingford, CT.
There is/was a range there called Blue Trail Range. You might check their web site for NRA or Free Pistol if you get depsarate, I know it's pretty far away.

dry fire IZH 46M
My take on the manual was that dry hammer release is available, meaning that you can dry-fire the gun (release the hammer in a "dry-run", if you will), not that a special attachment could be purchased to accomplish this. Are there any IZH 46 gunsmiths around to talk to? I will be attending...

Where to shoot?
I am looking for places to shoot BE and AP.
I live about 35 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. Right now the farthest I travel is Canton, Oh (about 1 1/2 hrs.)
What else is around the tri-state area for Bullseye, AP and AP silhuoette?
Thanks!

IZH-35M spares
I am thinking lately that it wouldn't be a bad idea to pick up some spares for my .22 while I can. Hopefully availability will not change, but I wanna be prepared. I hate reverse engineering things in the basement. The question is - what are some typical wear items on a gun like this? I think that I...

Dry fire IZH 46M
Open the breach 90 degrees until you feel the trigger group reset an then close and latch it. Then you can "fire" the trigger group without involving the pressure chamber. If you are familiar with the older style T/C Contenders, or a firearm with a single (or double) set trigger that opera...

practice ammo
I took a DOT physical for a local/regional driving job today, so it looks like I will be home on the weekend very frequently if things work out. That changes things quite a bit, as I now can find the gun shows around Pittsburgh and Youngstown, and maybe Cleveland and Columbus, also. I really need to...

.22 amoo, etc
thanks for the replys. I'll be contacting DJ precision. I thought about contacting Wolf springs and talking to there techie about getting a stiffer recoil spring, but I gotta talk to a gunsmith first about the other aspects of firing higher velocity stuff, like whether breech face/chamber mouth will...

Hello; I am new to this forum and I have lots of questions. I am a truck driver now, so it may be a week, or so, before I can check my email again (but it may not!). Thanks in advance for you responses. I have an IZH-35M. Can I shoot high velocity ammo in it without a problem? I would like to be abl...
