Re: Making anything below an 8 unacceptable

Thank you.
That is actually extremely helpful. That links in with what I was told a while ago, is that in a match it is 60 individual games, each one separate from the last and treat every shot as an individual event.

I'll review your links.

Re: Rapid Fire events

Just read that thread, will be a surprise if rapid fire goes. But may make 25m pistol more accessible. Hopefully will be an air pistol event so I can do this in the UK at my range.

Re: Tinted glasses for pistol shooting

Are tinted glasses actually allowed? I thought ISSF rules were that you are only allowed your normal prescription lenses, no other optical aids apart from a blinder and iris?

Making anything below an 8 unacceptable

Hi Everyone, Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this website, I've used the advice here and really improved my shooting. Today a personal best of 540! Started on 6th September 24. So the question today is: I've been told that anything below an 8 is really quite unacceptable, so how do peop...

Re: Rapid Fire events

I'm in the UK, no rapid fire events as the live round pistols are illegal. Which is a pity as I think I'd be very good at it. At my range I shoot my pistol at 50 meters for fun, and hit the target. Unfortunately, I don't think they allow air pistol rapid fire either. In the USA, I ask your local uni...

Re: 600 score

Thank you all for the replies. I've read alot about sub 6 aim, it is very difficult as it's hard to judge how much white should be below the black ring. I'm surprised centre hold isn't more popular as it's much easier to aim at the thing you want to hit and you also have to concentrate harder to vis...

600 score

I'm new to shooting, 8 weeks. PB is 515 and shooting a steyr evo 10 sport (manual). What I'd love to know is from the athletes who have shot a score of 600. Was it luck? Have you done it more than once? (This feels like when I was a kid and I was asking my older brother about s€x!, whats it like lol...

Re: Best training at home

I'm new to 10m pistol. 8 weeks in and 515 is my current PB, I'm okay with that as only been 8 weeks and want to get to 560 ASAP. I'm shooting a steyr evo 10, but that not important. I've been told to dry fire and hold, is what I need to do. I've also been told dry fire on a blank target, practice si...
