Re: New(ish) shooter with questions on sights

With reduced targets you would also have to scale the pellets.. I would image most people have a way to live fire at 10min in their houses/backyards. When I lived in a small apartment I had to scale target to 5m but I would only use it for dry fire and then I would live fire at the range.

Re: Morini CM200EI serial number

To be honest CM200s are extremely rare, I've never seen one in the wild lol

Re: New(ish) shooter with questions on sights

"Is a center-hold really not common in olympic shooting" Yes, pretty much everyone uses sub 6 hold, it's just superior to other holds. I honestly have no idea if there's a rule that states the sights need to be black but I've never seen anyone shoot with colored front/rear sight and to be ...

Why is Pardini K12 unpopular

I’ve watched some competitions on YouTube and all i can see are Steyr and Morini, Pardini K12 is very rare - is there any particular reason for it? Is there any “fatal flaw” in the gun?

It’s surprising to me considering how dominant their rimfire pistol is

Score progression

I’m still fairly new (I’ve been shooting for about 2 months) and i’m wondering how did everyone’s score progression look like? What did you shoot after a month/two/6/12 etc?

I know scores are not that important at the beginning but it would be nice to set myself some realistic score goals.

How far back should the trigger be

is there a standard for how far back should the trigger be from the grip? Is it a bad practice to put it too far back/too close?

Or is it 100% personal preference?

Adjusting rear sight as novice

I’m new to the sport and i’m trying to set the sights on my air pistol for sub6 hold but it’s hard for me to do so since I’m still pretty bad at shooting and my shots go everywhere, any advice? How can i know if my shot is good if my sights are not set correctly to shoot a 10 when it’s perfect?

I'm not from the US :( Why not tell us where you're from. You'll get more useful information and perhaps get a response in your language. I assume you're talking about iron sights here, because the difference between those and "Red Dots" is huge. I’m from Poland, and yes I’m talking about...

Re: Do you use different lenses for air pistol and 22LR pistol?

An adjustable iris can accommodate changes in light as well as changes in sight radius...especially for older shooters. Allowing one to use the lens to correct for astigmatism. https://gehmann.com/en/Shooting-Frames-and-Accessories/Clip-On-Iris-etc./ https://www.champion-brillen.ch/en/produkt/iris/...

Do you use different lenses for air pistol and 22LR pistol?

I’m looking to get a pair of shooting glasses. What I understand is that i need a weaker lense than my prescription so that my eyesight is focused on the front sight. Does that mean I need a separate lense for air pistol and sport pistol? The distance from my eye to the sight is different on both, a...

I wish they would just scrap RF and have both genders shoot sport pistol (or maybe standard pistol?)

Re: Shooting glasses lens

The standard starting point is to get +0.75 diopter boost on the lens for your aiming eye. That brings your relaxed focus closer to your front sight. Depending on the brand of glasses, you can also the boost lens as a clip-on. That allows you to experiment with the amount of boost you like, and it ...

Re: Old vs new Pardini

The older SP I had came with an adjustable grip just like my new SP. Comparing my old SP with my new SP that has tungsten weights we didn't see any benefit getting a new one. The only difference between my two. You can't adjust the 1st stage trigger pull on the older guns as they don't have an adju...

Old vs new Pardini

I’m looking to get my first 22LR. I’m wondering if there’s a large difference between older and newer pardini models? I could get something (as an example) like this: https://bronzal.pl/boczny-zaplon/138-pistolet-sportowy-pardini-sp.html used for 6000PLN (1400 EUR) or I can get a brand new one for 1...

Pistol shooting and gym

I've been trying to find some more information about how lifting affects shooting. Some sources say it's good, others say its good when using lower weights and high reps and others say it's just bad overall. I've started shooting fairly recently and I hope I can go far with it and be competitive but...

Standard scoring system

I've often seen posts here such as "beginners should aim to shoot 520" etc but what's not clear to me is whether that includes the decimal part or not? I've got into AP recently and I'm not sure which score to look at from my target scan app.

Do i NEED to use a blinder?

I’m a beginner but I can shoot with both eyes open just fine without a blinder, the sights are a little bit transparent (I think that’s the best way to describe it) but i’m not seeing two of them as some other people say they do. Is it still beneficial to wear a blinder or will I be fine without it?
