Re: Kid will need glasses
As someone who has been in glasses & contacts since I was 6 years old - get the vision fixed .... the quality of life goes way up. If he is going to need correction his whole life, why NOT start now? (snicker - now 61 years ago) In terms of shooting - These are many sight mounted, glasses mounte...

Maybe they'll leave the rules alone? :-)
Always waiting for them to shift 3-P to Decimal and see all the handwringing.....

Re: Crosman Challenger CH2021 Windage Problem
Can you rotate that bbl weight/sight mount to the right (clockwise)? This is a fairly common goof from Crosman. (Poor quality control) (Even on the 2009's) If the flat is too close to the correct position to tighten the grubscrew down, I'd find the correct rotation then just put a touch of 5min epos...

Re: Changing Butt Plate on Anschutz 1813 Match 54
Tim - Thanks. Seems like a lot of variants. I bought this over 13 years ago when my daughter was in high school as a used "1813 Supermatch" - dunno know it that was true, but it has more of the what you describe as a 1913 pattern? She shot it in college to great effect (NCAA champ) but I'v...

Hey Tim ... as one that has multiple "1813" style rifles/stocks .... could you maybe post pictures of your "variants" described?

Re: Cost of Orion, Keeps Going Up
Only an opinion - no data to back this up: 1) Orion is the part of the company that funds the Athena stuff 2) A lot of the JROTC programs are using Athena, so more help desk support required ... so, back to #1. I will say that when ORION first came out, it was a heck a a lot better than plugging hol...

Re: difference between 10 click and 20 click Anschutz sights
Some comments here - I may be FOS, but wth - here goes: Back in the day of integer scoring for air rifle I think 10 click sights were just fine ... a 10.2 was as good as a 10.9. Now ... not even close ... with decimal scoring I think a 20 click sight is the way to go... way easier to creep up on the...

Re: KK500
How big is your daughter? For a gal or smaller guy, the lite barrel makes it a touch lighter and if necessary you can always add weight (either in the stock under the bbl or on the rail) My daughter shot one a few years ago and had both those weights added as well as a Upta tube/tuner on the front. ...

Re: Club/youth smallbore rifle options
I think blg is looking for guns that are "international" 3P style rifles. Very hard to find here in the US these days. I'm always on the lookout for 1912, 1914 rifles as well as the FWB2700 (lites). Almost anything in LH I take a serious look at .... nothing sadder than watching a lefty tr...

Re: NRA WHITTINGTON CENTER SUPPORTS USA SHOOTING OLYMPIC PREPARATION
If you can get there more than twice a year (as we easily can here in New Mexico) the fee is silly small. Plus if you only get to go once you will fall in love with the place. Many times we have to go downrange and chase off he wildlife. So many great memories of my being with my kids shooting 4-H e...

Re: Impressions from the USAS Board Meeting
Marc - you'll love this. I had to update my background check to host my state's JO Qualifiers. ($40 to USAS of course) It's a nit, but still irritating. I had to pay (never have before) but Ashley did explain that USAS used to pay for it when I officiated at their national matches. (Although I did g...

Re: Anschutz 1907/1912 trigger adjustment
Ditto to Tim's statement ... that is almost always the case - especially the rear trigger housing screw. Way back when - our state 4-H program necessitated the use of very heavy triggers requiring us to swap triggers out. this issue was common. Once we got the state to conform to real rules (i.e. wh...

Re: 50 Foot ISSF standard target heights for kneeling and prone
If you ever go to an NCAA match, they "begin" at the CMP heights, but the shooters are allowed to bump the targets a bit from the nominal point. At least on the Megalink targets that many use. This is noted in the match setup as "Lift Adjust" I think this is a very fair accommoda...

Re: scores from Olympic tryouts
That link has old info and incomplete results
You would think that after 20 years USAS would get their match reporting results in line. It is always late - rush, rush, rush at the end of the match and things get skipped.
