Re: Air Pistol Options Around New York City?

He can't even bring or store his own air pistol in NYC without a license. I shoot at the Nassau County range which allows air guns. It's very close to Hofstra University. I can't think of an easy public transport commute from NYC. Plenty of options in Rockland county but I don't see easy commute opt...

which front sight uses 15.8 mm inserts?

Does anybody know which front sight uses inserts 15.8 mm diameter? I have one "stepped" plastic insert with OD 15.8 and "step" is 14.1 mm. Is this possibly an older Walther? (It was in an old Walther plastic box...) It's a very nice smoke colored insert that does not fit my Ansch...

Does anyone have STL files to print .22 and .177 scoring plugs/gauges?

Thank you.

Re: risers

Thank you. I understand this part of math. However, I don't know how much elevation is available on my sights. Also, I am under impression that the taller the risers, the more elevation adjustment is needed due to the increase in the angle between the axis of the barrel and the axis of the now raise...

Re: ISSF 10M Novice Practice Distance of 7M

Generic 5.5x5.5 inch targets are about 25% smaller than a standard 10m target. They fit into generic metal trap. They are cheap but printed on heavy stock. This combination works very well and better than scaled down targets printed on regular paper. PA sells both under Air Venturi name, but they ar...

Re: risers

Interesting. Thank you.

I decided not to get this combination and instead buy equal height risers.

risers

What happens if the front sight riser is 2 mm taller than rear sight riser? Will it run out of elevation adjustment? Any other potential problems?

Anschutz 1913 usually shooting at 50 feet and 25 yards and very occasionally at 50 yards

Risers: 44 mm front, 42 mm rear

Thank you.

targetscan app question

Can someone who uses this app tell me if it works with TQ-3/5 target. I see in description TQ-3/1 and TQ-3/2, but no mention of TQ-3/5.

I tried another app that did not work. I don't want to buy it unless I know that it will work with this particular target.

Thank you.

Thank you!

I have minimal astigmatism, so I can even use safety reading glasses (I still prefer my prescription glasses.)

glasses for scoped rifle

I have a question about prescription glasses for scoped rifle: should I use distance or distance+.5 or something else?

My current shooting glasses for rifle with aperture sights are distance + .5. For pistol, I have distance + .75.

Thank you.

Thanks, but I need 18mm stepped insert dimensions, not 22mm.

PS I edited the original post to make it clear that I am asking about inserts for 18mm front sight.

dimensions of plastic inserts for 18mm front sight?

I have a bunch of plastic inserts for 18mm front sight that are flat plastic discs. They fit perfectly my my 1962 match 54 with 18mm front sight. I also have a nice tinted insert that has a "step" - a wider outer diameter, and a "step" with smaller diameter. This insert is too lo...

Re: .22 LR Cartridge Lifter Blocks

Gwhite, thank you for these!

I do have a question: you mention that infill is not critical. But what would be reasonable? 25%? 50%? Less?

I don't have experience with 3d printing, but my friend who does it for me always asks about infill...
