Being able to see (at least) the front sight razor sharp is a must in serious target shooting involving iron sights.
I totally second the previous poster's suggestions although I've only been in specs/contacts since I was 10 (now 44 years ago).

Re: 50 m target transporter: how fast?
It depends. Some systems are certainly faster than others :) Next time I'm in Varsseveld, Hoogeveen or Hardenberg I'll time the duration but for the 50 meter smallbore optics competition, where one has 45 minutes for 30 match shots + sighters, transport is always more than adequately fast for me. Ti...

Re: Little Training exercise
After a couple of years of air pistol shooting I still consider myself a beginner - as my scores dramatically prove - so take my post with a bit of salt: To the list above I'd like to add one more thing: 2b) "Twitch control" (for lack of a better term) What I mean is that as a subprocess o...

Re: Back after a long time with more sad news
GWhite's advice (as usual) to me looks spot on. I'm close to 54 with several health issues myself and only started "serious" pistol shooting some 4 or 5 years ago, air pistol only last year. So I recognize your suffering... ;) Pistol shooting: it's simple, but it sure ain't easy... On the ...

Re: How far back should the trigger be
This is exactly what I noticed: the position at the 'wall' should be as shown. Moving my Steyr trigger forward 1 mm recently for me seems to have improved the feel and - to some extent - scores.

The digital counterpart to Rover's method is an app like TargetScan which automatically calculates the size and location of the total group centre once you enter (=take pics of) a series of targets.

Re: Optimal speed for CO2
The manual for my Feinwerkbau Modell 2 states that ~150 m/s is the optimum speed with 'normal weight' pellets too. This has been confirmed via email contact with the manufacturer last year, with the additional statement that they consider the 8.2 grain pellets more stable than lighter diabolos. I've...

Thank you very much for those! I found one for Federal Champion ammo but that doesn't quite fit for the European (RWS etc) brands.

Transparent blinder for left eye, paper targets, small tool set (knife, flashlight, hex keys etc), Uplula.
I have a large older laptop bag for a range bag.

Shaking limbs loose before shooting?
Recently I came across a, well, interesting video on Youtube in which Olena Kostevych features in the introduction to an "Olympic Battle" against a TV presenter, apparently a novice (?) shooter: https://youtu.be/qTbqvFyq4Fc?si=_VnbL5Jv4BNsNmoC Only want to comment on one aspect of it: at @...

Re: Cheap pellets problem K12
Gecos are my club's preferred pellets too, thousands get shot every month by many pistol shooters. Zero issues.
Sounds to me the person you loaned your pistol to had a faulty tin, so to say.

Re: Draft Notes on Working with O-rings for Air Guns
Great resource! As a removal tool, I usually use a bamboo (bbq) skewer, sharpened/pointed to the required thinness. They tend to be stronger than toothpicks, IMO. I've had some success in hard to reach areas (-> very narrow groove the o-ring sat in) by tapering a skewer over a longer length that wou...

With a (nearly) full charge of CO2 my ancient Feinwerkbau Modell 2 weighs >1200 grams. Almost empty it will still be >1100 grams. Note, it still shoots amazingly well but I do find it to be very heavy, and its balance and unadjustable grip angle is almost right (for me) - but not quite. The trigger ...

Hmm, quite shocking. I wonder if anything changes with regards to the sport though (ie changes in match formats and/or Olympic disciplines).

Somebody does: https://www.huma-air.com/Externally-Adjustable-Inline-PCP-Regulator-With-Integrated-Fillset This is externally adjustable but since it has a bleed screw one could, once adjusted to 200 bar, either leave it on the scuba tank after closing its valve and bleeding to be able to take the f...

Then probably an email to Steyr will help? Maybe they can point out the part on the exploded view (https://steyr-sport.com/de/downloads-lu ... mpact/file) that could be in the way?

Re: LP50 Trigger Stuck
No experience with this particular model but generally one needs to make sure the trigger isn't cocked, and that the bolt/slide is located in a certain position (ie partially open) so as not to cause interference.

Re: HN Match Green .177 leadfree pellets
Everybody can make their own decisions but I've never seen a test anywhere in which lead free pellets performed equally well as lead based ones. So I'll stick to the latter for as long as possible/allowed. Just use them in a well ventilated area (shooting range) and wash your hands after handling th...
