PPP is a relatively new program which allows youth to participate using positions from fully supported all the way to one handed unsupported. The position they use is generally based on age and abillity. Clubs doing PPP are somewhat few and far between but it seems to be growing. I highly recommend ...

The Shelby County Shooting Sports Association is looking for some type of building to continue their youth air rifle and pistol programs in the Birminham, AL area. If anyone knows of a building in the area that might be available for this purpose please contact Sam Richardson at SRichieR@aol.com. Th...

I've always been told not to touch the bulb when putting them in. Oil from your hands will cause a short life span. Use a rag to install them. I would think that not using the glass would allow bugs to get to the bulb. If oil from fingers isn't good then surely cooked bugs won't help. We use the lig...

Our club 888's are typically between 450 to 550 fps. Two guns were just over 600 fps. Feinwerkbau's were all 600+ fps.

Pellets used were H&N from CMP and Vogel's.

I only know of one group shooting air pistol in AL and that is Shelby County Shooting Sports Association. It is mainly a youth program. We are located in Birmingham, AL. www.shelbyshootingsports.org. Hopefully if there are more air pistol shooters or some bullseye shooters around here in Alabama the...

Same problem here. USAS rules appear to be written for ranges with target carriers or electronics. This year there was "great discussion" about whether to take additional sighters after the target changes. We decided to make sure that the target changes caused a range delay of more than 5 ...

Try Crossroads Shooting. They are located in the north Mississippi area. Not sure all they do or their exact location. Contact info should be on the CMP or NRA website. They ran the Junior Olympic matches in Mississippi this year so they are listed on the USAShooting website also.

Progressive Position Pistol is a USA Shooting youth program. It is designed to provide a program where youth can shoot at their age and ability level. Younger kids shoot more supported positions. Youth participate and compete in their category or position. Competitive PPP events are a 40 shot match....

You must get the cylinder to be filled cold first. Otherwise the pressure will equalize and you will only have a small amount of liquid with mostly gas in the cylinder. Try one of two things: 1. Put cylinder to be filled in freezer overnight. 2. If cylinder is room temperature, fill it as best you c...

The burst seal on the nut end and the o-rings on the filling end are available from Wal-mart in the paint ball section. Broken burst disks are almost always a result of overfilling. Broken o-rings (on the filling end) just happen especially if the cylinder gets screwed in part way and then backed ou...

I also would suggest the Daisy 449. The stock is wood so it can be shortened. It is plenty accurate. I would not recommend the Daisy Buck. They are hard to cock, multi-shot and inaccurate. Might cause frustration with a young shooter. Red Ryder is a little better and ok for toting in the woods but i...
